Jose Alberto Ramirez of Edinburg, Texas, was this week sentenced to life in prison for bludgeoning to death a 27 year old photo technician with a fire extinguisher.

Prosecuters alleged that Ramirez broke into the apartment of Gabriel Garcia on April 15 2008 and beat him to death before making off with the victim's wallet, keys and his PlayStation Portable. Police later recovered the stolen items reporting that the PSP was blood-stained.

Ramirez, representing himself in court, claimed that the attack was self-defense as Garcia was trying to bum-rape him, hours after a consesual sexual encounter.

Rumours that a lubricated Wii Remote inside its protective sleeve, was also used in the attack are completely unfounded.
