Like the videogaming equivalent of Mystic Meg, Michael Pachter from Wedbush Morgan seems to be the industry's loudest headline generator.

But who is this person? Why does the industry seemingly hang on his every word? And why have we given him a front page news piece?

Who knows - but one thing we do know is that he's ripe for a bit of mickey taking. So without further ado, let's examine some of his most memorable statements.

Pachter on Red Dead Redemption: "I remain skeptical that the game will be considered a “blockbuster franchise,” and certainly do not expect sales to rival those of GTA."

(early sales and preorder forecasts seem to disagree so far. The game's going to go stellar and deservedly so).

Bovine Excrement Rating: 1 Cow Chip out of 5 purely because he's now reversed his statement.

Pachter on the Nintendo 3DS: "Do they (Nintendo) think they're going to get $300 for a 3DS? I don't know. Maybe they will, but that's a tough purchase for me."

(Once again, pre-E3 mania has kicked in and Pachter has failed to factor in the Nintendo Fanboy freneticism for any new piece of kit. It'll sell like hot cakes, even if it's a bit crap)

Bovine Excrement Rating: 2 Cow Chips out of 5 for not factoring in the Nintendite element.

Pachter on the Wii HD: "It's almost a surety. Nintendo will announce it at E3. They'd be crazy not to be thinking about it for 2011"

(No Wii HD at E3 unless it's going to be the biggest surprise of the show. Pacher has since pointed out that he was partially right - the Wii HD just happens to now be called the Sony Move and is now made by an entirely different company)

Bovine Excrement Rating: 2 Cow Chips out of 5 for being in the right ball park but at the wrong game.

Pachter on Call of Duty: "The series will decline by $250 Million in 2010"

(Since the announcement and early trailers for Call of Duty: Black Ops, online vendors are reporting ridiculously high preorders for the game, due in November this year.)

Bovine Excrement Rating: 0 Cow Chips out of 5 for imagining a Christmas without a COD no.1

Pachter on EA Mobile: "Mobile games are a fad, and EA is wrong to even bother with them."

(EA's games regularly feature as top sellers on the iTunes apps store and iPad reworkings of EA games seem to be hitting the iPad's top 50 as well, despite the games often carrying a high-end price)

Bovine Excrement Rating: 2 Chow Chips out of 5 because EA hasn't quite managed to perform the same trick on Android or other mobile gaming platforms just yet.

Expect more from Pachter when E3 hits. If anyone can tell me an easy way to assassinate the guy and take his job, I'd be very interested in hearing it.
