Sony's controversial (read: slow and clunky microcontent-spewing) 3D social networking game type deal Home has been in Beta since 2008. All that's set to change in December when the service finally becomes an official product without the beta tag.

Project lead Kirk Ewing described the service as "not sh*t" while speaking at a Game Developer's Conference in Dundee yesterday.

Home has been beset with problems and issues since its inception in 2008. Pitifully slow loading times, slow update servers, queues for popular Home content and ridiculously priced virtual tat have been amongst the criticisms levelled at the service.

Home goes live for real in December. Excited?
