Nintendo really is the king when it comes to being able to charge gamers over and over again for previously released titles. The Wii's virtual console is doing a roaring trade as nostalgic gamers looking through their rose-tinted spectacles cough up for old NES/SNES/MasterSystem/C64/Turbo Grafx games. And that trend looks set to continue with the release of Nintendo's next hand-held, the 3DS.

Speaking at a 3DS event held earlier today, Nintendo confirmed that the soon to be released portable (February 26 in Japan, March in EU and US) will feature a virtual console for the GameBoy and GameBoy Advance. Expect sales of Super Mario Land to go through the roof.

No pricing details or available games have so far been announced but even though this will be seen as many to a cynical marketing move, the 3DS certainly has a lot going for it, and now even more so.

What games would you pay to play again?
