Smug iPad owners have had it all their own way for far too long with World of Goo. The happy news is that the fantastic blob-joining game is now heading to the iPhone and iPod Touch in March.

If the iPad version is anything to go by, it could end up being a day one purchase. There are scant details of what hardware you'll need to run the game (suspicions have been aroused that it might be another one of those annoying 3G and up games - well, annoying if you're a 2G-er like me, at least) but it's very good news for those of us not stupid enough to spend huge amounts of money on an overpriced tablet device.

Really hope this works on my ropey old 2G. Doubt it will but if it does, it'll be a day-one purchase for sure.

The iPad version is absolutely delightful. It's the perfect system for the game, but it's one of those games I don't want to blitz all the way through too quickly as I know I won't be able to get those moments back again.

Currently about 3/4 of the way through but savouring it.

Wouldn't the iPhone screen be way to small to pick out the goo ball you want?

Maybe but I'm assuming there'll be some clever pinch/grow mechanics attached to it to make it playable.

I've had this for a few days but haven't even had chance to open its wrapper thanks to Alien: Isolation. I will get to it at some point and am very much looking forward to it....

DG is brilliant, and anyone who says otherwise deserves a raspberry.
