 - Katamari Amore , Katamari Amore Rolling Whopper, Have a nice Trip, Time Trip, Namco Bandai

It feels like a whole other lifetime when I sat and watched the chief of this here website hunched in front of a modded PS2 at one of the legendary Eurogamer LAN events, playing a strange Japanese game where the object was to roll a huge ball around the screen picking up kipple from a gigantic room.

Off the back of that weird weekend, I ended up buying all the necessary kit and caboodle, and an import copy of the first Katamari game, the sublime Katamari Damacy.

I still dip into it from time to time and though I've missed all the games that have come out in the interrim, I'm determined to pick up the game Namco appear to be currently working on. URL registrations point to a new offering, Katamari Amore or possibly even Katamari Amore Rolling Whopper (!) being announced officially sometime very soon.

It seems sad that the project(s) won't involve original Katamari creator and absolutely bonkers Noby Noby Boy developer Keita Takahashi, but hopefully Namco will have enough of a team sorted out to bring something new to the slightly mined out gameplay therein.

Another couple of URL trademarks by Namco are intriguing too. Read too much into it if you will, but "Time Trip" and "Have a nice Trip" might be murmurings of a new outing for the sexier half of the duo in Namco's other recent success Enslaved.

We'd all like to have more Trip, fo sho.

Back on the Katamari front, here's some lovely footage from Katamari Forever - the one none of you buggers bought.
