We've read some sick stuff in our time reporting videogame dirt but this really takes the biscuit.

Lorraine Rodriguez and her partner Juan Javier Garza were both arrested by police this month charged with capital murder after the death of Rodriguez's 21 month-old child.

The boy died on January 1st of this year from what the corroner described as multiple blunt force injuries.

In a witness statement, Rodriguez claimed the toddler fell off the kitchen work counter, had a seizure and died. Quite how she's qualified to make that diagnosis is anyone's guess.

KTZ10 reports that:

New information on the death of 21-month-old Texas Ruiz. The boy's mother, 25-year-old Lorraine Rodriguez, was arrested and put in jail yesterday. She and her boyfriend, Juan Javier Garza, are both charged with capital murder.

The boy died on the first of this year. Medical examiners ruled that he died from multiple blunt force injuries to his head and stomach. March 18th, Juan Javier Garza was arrested on charges of abusing the boy last July.

Six News has obtained court documents that shed some light on what happened the night the toddler died. Police say he was beaten to death at Rodriguez's apartment. She old 9-1-1 operators that Texas fell off the kitchen counter, had a seizure, and died.

Juan Garza's younger brothers had a different story for police. The affidavit says garza's brothers, ages 9 and 11, were over at Lorraine's apartment playing video games the night the toddler died. The boys told investigators "Texas died because Juan Garza punched Texas in the chest over and over "with a Wii."

The boys told police Garza was mad at Texas, because Texas kept asking him questions. The nine year old said "Garza punched the toddler in the chest ten times" and when that happened "Texas would knock on the floor and hit his head and he would start crying."

The 11-year-old told police he had to sit and watch as Garza continued punching texas and then told him to go in the corner. He said "he couldn't do anything. If he did his brother would beat him up. His brother had done that before. "

This whole time, "Lorraine didn't say or do anything."

The medical examiner later found out the boy had tears in his stomach and bruising on both sides of his brain. "Dr. Fernandez said either the trauma to the abdomen or the bleeding in his brain alone would have caused Texas' death."
