Well hello there, what do we have here, dear reader? Why it's a lesser-spotted Kinect game for the Xbox One! A rarity if ever I did see it.

Although to be fair Virtual Air Guitar Company have been supporting Microsoft's much maligned peripheral better than anyone else. Their latest foray into the motion detected waters sees you cast as yourself, only here you are the apprentice of a great warrior. Of course you being you, you fuck things right up and end up having to kick the faces off hordes of baddies throughout the games 20 odd levels.

When you first start a chapter Kung-Fu for Kinect asks you to strike a few poses while pulling suggested faces, it then slips these seamlessly into the comic book cut scenes presented before the action. The first time I did this it felt a bit stupid, but when I saw the results I couldn't help but be tickled. The Kinect 2.0 technology provides a much better picture than the previous device and it works really well here.

Also benefiting from this wizardry is the gameplay, the old Kinect would often fail to read movements and gestures, not here though. Every punch and kick you make is mirrored by your reflection in the screen. Wind-milling your arms will make you somersault to higher levels or over baddies heads, a double fisted punch will launch you across the arena damaging all in its wake, you'll even start to unlock magic attack as you progress, such as the earthquake punch, a fist to the floor often puts paid to those bloody wizards.

Following the awful decision of Microsoft this week to end support for Xbox Fitness it's important to have these games available for us more rotund gamers who actually like to do a bit when we can. And it's even more important to have actual FUN experiences while we work out. Seriously ten minutes on this and you'll be glowing like a Sellafield sheep. It's also guaranteed to amuse your wife and children to no end. The kids always want a go after you are done though, which is the hallmark of a successful game.

If you own a Kinect you'd be mad not to pick up the best game made for it in a long time, give it a go, you might even lose a few pounds, fatty.
