If there's one studio who seem to have a real handle on the internals of the PS3...

...it's Insomniac Games. Producing super-smooth and very attractive gaming experiences that wring the best out of the cell isn't exactly easy, but so far everything they've produced has managed to avoid the usual pitfalls attached to the PS3. No tearing, high frame rates and complex texturing seemingly achieved effortlessly.

Insomniac seem to be a bit disillusioned that this fact passes a few gamers and press types by and have stated that the next Ratchet and Clank game will be the last game where they go to the extra hassle of bothering with 60-frames-per-sec gameplay and animation.

But why? Why would anyone take a massive step backwards when they're at the top of their game? And does 60fps matter to you? Use the box below, s'what it's there for.
