Mirror's Edge iPhone / iPod Touch trailer smoothly slides from 3D to 2D

Have a little Faith, it might be great
Slideshows are all well and good, but you'd rather see a Mirror's Edge trailer proper - right?

Right - slide back under those exquisite blue skies, soak up that fantastic soundtrack and get jarringly brought back to earth with a thump when you see EA's vision of Mirror's Edge on the iPhone / iPod Touch. It's got most of the trademark stuff in there, only it's all 2D and seemingly turned into a bit of a combat platformer.

Still looks reasonably alright though.

Damn, I want to play the proper version through again now.

Again, I know the app store is the place to be at the moment for portable games, but why the fuck can't they make this sort of thing for PSP, or even the DS?

One word that fits both counts. Piracy.

Sure there's a lot of app piracy going on, just the same - but there's still a hell of a lot more money to be made out of iTunes than there is out of boxing up and selling a DS or PSP game (even going via the PSN store for a digital-only download for a PSP version would still not be as cost effective and profitable as sticking out an iPhone game).

I think EA are slowly getting a handle on developing for the iPhone though. Liking their work so far, just wish it didn't come at the cost of developing big-and-proper games.

You're thinking about boobies? Bayonetta's arse? Singstar microphones?

No wait the first two are me. The third's you though, all you :)

fwiw the control issues on iPhone games really have driven me to discover the highs (then lows) of PSP gaming all over again. The highs - it really is a better machine than the iPhone for gaming. The lows, it turns your hands into clawed talons after 20 mins

Still loving this. Perfect antidote for bloated games. Arcade games FTW! :-)
