Travelled to the UK and stabbed his victim 86 timesSee
AATG's original report on the arrest, from last September.
A German cyber gamer flew from all the way from Germany to the UK to kill the owner of an online forum, after becoming obsessed with the man's girlfriend.
David Heiss, 21, from Germany, killed Matthew Pyke last September by stabbing him 86 times in a "savage and sustained attack," Nottingham Crown Court was told.

Heiss (pictured on the right) was one of 40 members of the website Pyke ran: Warscentral.com, a site for enthusiasts of the game Advance Wars. Pyke (pictured on the left) went by the name Shade, on the site.
The prosecution claims that Heiss was fixated on Pyke's girlfriend, Joanna Witton, aged 20, who he met on the website. Through his obsession over the woman, Heiss grew to hate her boyfriend.
Though they had never met, Heiss had already admitted having a crush on Witton as early as March, of last year. He had sent the Witton, who goes by the name jojo, this message:
"I love you Jojo more than anything else in my life.
'I shouldn't, but I can't help it, and to be honest, it's a great feeling. You are my first thought when I wake up and the last one when I go to sleep."
Though Witton discouraged this behaviour, Heiss continued to send her obsessive messages. Eventually, in June, Heiss obtained their Nottingham address and made two announced visits to their apartment.
Heiss had told a fellow site member: "Seriously, the whole thing will end in at least one of us three dying". And to another he said: "I'm willing to lose everything over this girl, even my freedom."
By September Heiss was threatening to come to Nottingham in order to commit suicide. Witton advised he see a psychiatrist, and broke off all contact with Heiss on the 17th.
On September 18th, Heiss allegedly made a final trip to Britain to kill Pyke. Heiss travelled to Nottingham, where he slept outside Pyke and Witton's flat. He then waited for Witton to leave for work the next morning, before taking his chance to murder Pyke.
According to police interviews, Heiss sat astride his victim and stabbed "indiscriminately". Heiss rummaged through the flat to make the act appear like a burglary. He changed into a spare set of clothes he had brought for the trip, borrowing a pair of his victim's boots and a baseball cap. He then travelled back to Germany within 16 hours, discarding his weapon en route.
Heiss denies murder.
UPDATE: Pictures of Witton, the girlfriend, have surfaced for the first time. You can see them below.
