SMG2 is ram-packed with ingenuity, cunning, and an inventiveness unlike any game before it. HairyArse about Super Mario Galaxy 2 |
Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a real belter of a game, a realistic medieval RPG like nothing else on the market which scored top marks over here on AATG. Developers Warhorse have been pretty forthcoming with the patches and updates, which is great to see, and From the Ashes marks their first paid for expansion to the game.
Here Henry will find himself rebuilding the village of Pribisalvitz, which was being held by a bunch of motley bandits. You don't have to have completed the game to access this new DLC though, you can jump in as soon as you liberate the village. Those who have finished can jump in at any time.
As From the Ashes begins Henry finds himself on a rescue mission, which in true Kingdom Come: Deliverance fashion can be completed in multiple ways I won't spoil here. Eventually you'll end up as the Baliff of Pribisalvitz, where you and the surviving villagers of the sacked Skalitz can start rebuilding.
Rebuilding comes at a cost though, be prepared to sink copious amounts of Groschen into your new village, everything from running costs to a singular building will all take some hefty wedge. On the upside though, once you have established It enough, it become a handy crafting outpost and a source of steady income. You have to speculate to accumulate and all that jazz.
What From the Ashes isn't is a proper village sim, which is what a lot of people were expecting, or at least hoping for. It is a good excuse to return to the game, and sorting out village disputes is particuarly fun, especially if you play it during the campaign as the extra cash that rolls in is very handy indeed, but if you are playing it as end game content it can just feel a little redundant after the initial burst of fun.
