Alice 'Monkeyfrog' O'Toole is back, and this time it's musical...!

Once again here at AATG we're lucky enough to have convinced Alice "Monkeyfrog" O'Toole to do a DSiWare review for us. So take it away Alice....

First of all, I would like to draw attention to the fact that this game was incredibly original, fun, and amusing. The introduction clip was very funny, and added that little bit of adventure that the game needed.

The controls are easy to use, especially since you only need to use a stylus. The menu is aesthetically pleasing, and the music is fun and groovy. The game's map is also very creative, and easy to understand- it showed you when and where the bosses were, and when you clicked on it it showed you when a song was waiting ahead for you.

Secondly, I would like to say something about the layout of the game. At the start of the game, you have 'lessons'. These are a bit like a mini tutorial, but they actually lets you practice the things you are told to do.

I personally thought that one of the best assets of the game were the 'grades' it gave you. The 'A, B, C' grades it provides were easy to read and judge if you were getting better ( it's a bit like school, really!).

However, it is upsetting that you have to get a  B+ or over to pass any level, as you have to be almost perfect to get that score, and the game is a bit difficult on the levels that you cannot practice on.

Overall though I found that Maestro! Green Groove was very addictive, and when I couldn't complete a level, I got very annoyed and strived to get a B+ ( just ask my dad!!).

Maestro! Green Groove had a very adventurous setting, and I found it very good that each star on the screen was a note, and you had to strum the 'path' that you walked on in certain places ( the aren't that hard to find, as they're very glowy and shiny.). The graphics on the game are certainly exceptional for the DSi, and the game runs very smoothly and doesn't 'crash'. One of the main things I thought was very good was the music that you strum along to. It is all classical music, with some key pieces by famous artists like Beethoven.

Overall, I think this game is very addictive, and I would recommend this game for 7- 15 year olds, and give it 4 stars out of five!

It did certainly seem to have that 'one more go factor', and Alice's sister was always pestering her for a go. For 500 points this is a bit of a steal, I mean I got a bit of peace and quiet and everything!

Nice review Alice :)

Excellent stuff. It's probably worth mentioning that an iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad version of this is on the way too.

Love the music, really...well...groovy for want of a better word :) Cheers Alice ye're a star.
