Final Fantasy XIV, the second MMO in Square Enix's Final Fantasy series, has been on hiatus since November of last year, following widespread criticism and negative reactions. But Square Enix have not been resting on their heels – the game has been overhauled and is preparing for a return his summer.

And it seems like the women of Final Fantasy XIV are ready for summer, too, because it appears they are going to be hitting the beach, and they are dressed for the part.

The ladies of Eorzea are out to catch some rays and get some full-body tans, in stunning two-piece bikinis that don't even leave their tails to the imagination.

A Miqo'te struts her way to the beachfront after a long day of grinding and looting, her hips swinging side to side like a pendulum, as she passes two equally unclad characters. After a shot of the dazzling azure sea, the scene cuts to a seaside exercise class, attended by a group of nimble Miqo'te wearing almost nothing but sunshine.

Bikini-clad catgirls are nothing new to Final Fantasy XIV, but their appearance in the trailer for A Realm Reborn shows Square Enix's continuing focus on servicing the fans.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently undergoing beta testing, and is due for a full rollout on August 27th, on both PS3 and PC. We'll catch you on the sand!

I love it. It's the rally game I've been waiting for since Rallisport Challenge 2 (and it's a lot more technical / satisfying than that!) ...
