also google copyleft music, i found some sites a while ago i'll dig out some links.
Some is awful but some is really good, also there's a torrent site called bt.etree.org or something and they have torrents of live shows by a load of artists who have allowed them to be released under Creative Commons.

That's another phrase to look for too, Creative Commons Music.
