I don't suppose stupid questions like what is a Saltire are welcome here?

I'm sure i first heard it used on MTV back in the mid 80s. I think it was in an animation by the blokey who's famous for his twisting drawings of people's heads. He did the nick-nacks advert a few years ago, quite famous but i forget his name. lol.

It was something like
"Word of the Week - Defenestrate"
anim of someone booting a cat through a window.
"Tom defenestrated the Cat."

Can i find it, can i hell. :(

I'd also heard of the word "defenestrate" way back sometime :-)
My favourite word still has to be the word I was told was german for the person who stacks shelves in a chocolate shop, which is "chocoladerladerlader" (yup! 3 "lader"s!). Could be made up bollocks but I like it :-D

I think that's be Chokoladeladenlader. Once without r, once with n and once with r a the end.
It's a bit of an artificial made up word rather than on that is in actual use but I guess it works in a way.

/awaits UL to come in and explain the above is all wrong

Hmm, it would be more something like Schokoladenregallader, but that doesn't exist really. You wouldn't use lader for that type of task. Probably more something like Schokoladenregalfueller... which is a made up word too.

You can make some pretty weird words in german.

Hauptkellertuerschlossschluessellochverwaltungskammer

which is the main cellar door keyhole administration room (or place of safe keeping of said key). you could probably make longer ones.

hehe - I figured it was a pretty "made up" word, as there probably aren't many people in the world whose sole job is to stock the shelves in Thornton's, they'd probably just be called a shop assistant instead.

Hauptkellertuerensomethingsomething is quite a fun word as well - but I don't think there's much chance of me being able to remember that one... doesn't exactly roll off the tongue ;-)

Bill Plympton is the Nik Naks animator guy!

I've banned saltire kilts from our wedding, i think they look baws and having one across the back of your kilt is the equivalent of a fanny wearing a shirt covered in fannys shouting fanny at the top of his voice!

This man tells the truth.

Black Watch FTW! Unless you have your own tartan, obviously.

Any tartan looks good on a kilt to me (apart from the yucky orange/yellow combo). There's no need for saltires on kilts anyway, it's not like the kilt itself isn't a giveaway to Scottishness in the first place!

Oh, and Bill Plympton ftw. Not enough of his stuff about.

Well i'm buying both my kilt and my bros(the best man) kilts and i'm a bit all over the place. Mums side is McIntyre which has a tartan... but Beattie(the surname) has the border reiver tartan(shepherds) which is booooring(black and white check). I'm tempted by the black watch but... it's a bit grim like ken?...

Anyhoo back on topic.... oh :D
