***Please don't enter any spoilers in here if you're watching the US run! Ta!***

So, it has to be said that Heroes is nothing short of stunning. Although I missed the first 2 episodes (Apparently re-run tonight?) I'm utterly hooked with this. I'm hoping to god though that they don't do a "lost" with it.

They also don't appear to have any qualms in getting rid of people, even if they're only in it briefly, which is a good thing TBH.

And Hiro? Funniest character in anything ever? Yes, I think so.

"FLYING MAN! WOOSH!"
"Not so loud!"

The first Heroes thread I haven't been afraid of popping in to without fearing spoilers. :)

Yup, this is just superb TV. I'll admit I was sceptical (I mean, the idea sounds a bit daft, doesn't it?) but I adore this show.

I didn't mind losing Lost in the whole Sky/Virgin fiasco. I was getting pissed off with it's rather stupid meta-references (a DA called Edmund Burke was the last straw). Heroes is everything Lost promised it would be: it's fun, moves with a great sense of purpose and direction, and it's just a really tidy show.

lost suffers a few problems that have caused it to go sour. firstly it's co-created and helmed by jj abrams. anyone who's seen how convoluted and unsatisfying alias becamewith all the rambaldi shit that never really went anywhere should understand why that's not entirely a great thing. secondly it has a very limited scope due to the premise, and network execs are trying to spin it out longer due to the ratings, hence shitey filler.

heroes, on the other hand, has a very open premise. pretty much anything can happen, anywhere in the world. and jeph loeb instead of jj. hurrah :)

so, spoilers then? hows about the cheerleader seduces the flying man, hiro shapeshifts into a dinosaur, and peter pitrelli dies ;)

Ah, finally a uk pace discussion :) Tried to start one in the Heroes group at EG, but no takers since they're all on US pace.

Really, really enjoying it so far, I agree entirely that its much more fun than lost. Lost really feels like its dragging at the moment.

Hiro is ofcourse, the best thing in it, made even cooler knowing who the guy actually is in real life :)

Oh, and I think I see where they're going with the T-rex :)

Sorry for continuing the minor hijack, but the Rambaldi storylines got scaled back due to "network interference", not because JJ screwed the story up. They didn't think viewers liked the mythology episodes and just wanted more Sydney kicking butt, so forced the show runners to back out the storylines. I'm not claiming JJ is the greatest writer in the universe here, just pointing the blame in the right direction...

Anyway, back to Heroes...

Unless it's in it again then IMO it was concluded last night... when he stole the fake sword he brandished it against a model of T-Rex...

No?

Ah, sorry, I Sky+ it then go through the adverts so I havn't seen that episode yet. Totally forgot it had just been on. And yes thats what I suspected, that he was going to run into a big model T-Rex at whatever Museum he gets his sword from.

Woot! Spoiler free reading! I've stayed away from EG threads and the HAG group for fear of ruining what is my favourite piece of TV in I don't know how long. It achieves that rare thing of making me desperately not wanting the end of each episode to be the end of the episode.

I was quite excited when Niki broke the guard's night-stick, as it seems she may be getting Jessica's strength while still being herself. Sci-Fi didn't seem to be talking the piss as much with the ad-breaks last night either.

Hiro just made his sister the heir to his Dads company in Japan. Claire just found her Mum, and Mum then called Nathan, who is apparently Claires Dad.

I watched this episode last night (I didn't start downloading episodes until I knew the series was going to conclude and now I'm taking my time watching them) - what easter egg? I'm presuming you're talking larger than the car reg?

OK, finally got around to watching the latest episode last night and I have a question. How did Peter manage to escape from 'the haitian' and Bennet from the roof if the haitian is supposed to be able to suppress peoples powers? I mean Sylar was rendered totally safe by him, so how did Peter manage to stop time then fly off ?

The only thing I can imagine is that he let them go, in which case Bennet is presumably going to have words with him in a later episode about exactly why Peter was able to escape ?

I think the Haitian can only render peoples powers useless if he can get to their mind.

I'm guessing here too, but that in the past he and Bennett had hold of the invisible man, and they tried to render his powers useless, but it somehow failed. Hence why they were surprised to find out he was still alive.

Well, I'd just like to express my appreciation for Virgin's quality broadcasting service. Picture locked up fifteen minutes into the only bloody show I wanted to watch this week. :(

Fingers crossed for the repeat on wednesday.

Show is just getting better and better. Totally didn't see the Nathan / Sylar thing coming.

Best show on TV at the mo, bar none.

Does anyone know if monday night's show is being repeated again this week? Bloody cable has packed up ten mins into tonight's showing - same as it did on monday night. :(

They usually repeat it Wednesday at 9, and Sunday at 9 iirc, there's also SciFi +1 for the extra showing.

I heard BBC2 have picked this up, so it'll be great to watch without mountains of adverts crammed in. SciFi must have cottoned on they were takiong the piss, as now the show ends 10 minutes earlier, they've cut that many ads out.

This starts on BBC 2 on Wednesday 25th July at 9pm. Also on BBC HD too i think.

I've been waiting for it to come to BBC for ages now, can't wait for it to start!

I feel really late to the party for this as I'll be watching the Beeb 2 run...

Still, ne'er mind - it'd better be as good as you lot make out or there will be hell to pay.

Did the UK airing show a different episode to the US or something? The one the US showed was cack. :-)
