Halloweenhead - Ryan Adams. Weird video.

I taught myself how to grow old - Ryan Adams. Don't watch if depressed.

I suspect I'll post in here quite a bit.

Wow, that's pretty neat. Not sure why I've never listened to the guy before, being into country-rocky stuff, but I'll probably check more out, now.

For his more rocky stuff I'd go for "Rock N Roll", for more Country Rock I'd go for "Cold Roses" and work from there.

Never really listened to foreign language stuff but I quite like that, especially Sora wa Itsumo Naiteru.

For some reason, my brain led me to this - Tom Mcrae, Karaoke Soul and Ed Harcourt - Revolution in the Heart from them.

He did a cover of '69, It's amusing. He may have been drunk/stoned. (Link direct to Mp3 file).

I like the 1st and 3rd songs there - could see them as a bit of a grower on me.

I would highly recommend Kendel Carson's debut album Rearview Mirror Tears, worth it alone for the track "I Like Trucks". The album version is better than the one via the link - has a great live bar-room vibe added.

For all your acid-rock goodness, try the Mars Volta. Deloused in the Comatorium is the awesomeness.

Anyone know any good music with drums? Like Blue Man Group or alternatively any good songs with Taiko drums.

It certainly is obscure :)

This any help? The only alternatives I can think of are a few film soundtracks from the likes of Hans Zimmer.

Drum wise, you might want to track down an Aussie group called Big Pig. They had a single UK chart single success with Hungry Town but their album's full of nice big fat stompy drummy and singy stuff.

Used to be welded into my walkman once upon a time (y'know, back when walkmans were called walkmans and not iPods)

I'm more looking for something with less vocals and not as experimental as some of the things last.fm recommends.

aye, i didn't think that it was exactly the sort of thing you're after but it's the most impressive bit of drumming that i've ever heard.

you may want to see if you can get a hold of the drum solo on right here, right now by van halen. it's remarkably musical for being just one guy hitting things with a big stick :)

Sounds a lot like James.

Muse's new song. It's awful so this isn't a recommendation.

Anyone else picked up The Chronicles of Modern Life by Henry Priestman?

If, like me, you're in the middle of a mid-life crisis, I think you'll appreciate it. A more folk rock Dylan/Leonard Cohen if that's possible, with a wicked sense of humour. New single is getting some airplay: He Ain't Good Enough For You. Try hitting youtube for Don't You Love Me No More?

Best thing I've heard all year.

I feel dirty but I can't stop listening to the La Roux album. Dunno why, it's not a patch on most 80s synth pop but it's catchy in places.

Not a patch on Ladyhawke, IM(NERH)O. Also, check out Client and Marsheaux if lady-led electropop's your thang...

Oooh cheers for the recommendations, I'll slap those into Spotify forthwith.

Ladyhawke is vey vey goot too, agreed. Also have a soft spot for the track Phil Oakey did with Little Boots. The bloke still cuts it.
