How many extra charges do they want to throw in now?! 10 each way to take your suitcase. Are you fucking with me?! Of course I want to take a case, either include it in the price or piss off. It's not an extra. I can just imagine getting right above the Atlantic and the stewardesses wandering up and down asking us to pay for the fuel to take us the rest of the way.

They're also blackmailing you know "If you don't pay 5 per person to reserve a seat then it is unlikely you'll be sitting near each other". Great, why not call it a 5 "Insurance against sitting next to sweaty biffa" tax. Cheeky bastards.

Chuck in the added complication of working out if it's possible to take a pram (and what the size/weight limits are) and a car seat, and if any additional costs are, and this years holiday for the Legion family is about to get scrapped.

How much for car rental?! HOW MUCH?! 200 for 4 days?! I could buy a fucking car for that!

/seethes

A 4 day trip to Ireland is going to end up costing more than a week holiday at a 5 star all-inclusive resort in the dominican at this rate.

Also be very wary of your maximum luggage weight. If it's over by only a couple of kilos they won't mention it on your outgoing journey (when you can do something about it), but they'll get you on the return when you won't want to leave anything behind.

Drive + ferry?

Oh wait no. I've seen your car and your navigational skills. :-D

200 for 4 days?! Fuck that! Who's that with? I'm meant to be hiring a car for a weekend in Ireland too, but I'm positive you can get cheaper than that.

I wonder what the rules are for carrying a bridesmaid and a suit onto a flight, come to think of it.

We thought of that, but it's silly money and about a 12 hour journey start to finish, and with a 1 year old that's not the best idea.

Since coming home from work the prices have also gone up 40 too. In 2 hours!!! GAH! And they want 6+ for paying by credit card! Low fares my arse!!!

That was with BMI's recommendation, whoever that is. Europcar was the same price. Easycar came down to 160ish and I've just managed to get a quote for 100 from Holiday Autos, whoever they are.

I assume you'd be going via Dublin? If so, try some of the companies listed here. Looking through it, there appears to be much cheaper places and in the convenience of the airport itself.
