Went to the docs two weeks ago for a blood test, was told the results would be back in 7 days.

Now two weeks (and a large number of chasing phone calls) later I find out that they in fact managed to loose the blood samples and I have to go have another set of bloods taken next week.

So there are two vials of my blood floating around in the ether somewhere, no doubt on ebay by now.

My brother was in hospital recently and they mixed up his notes with someone elses and told him he had Hepatitis C.

Also, I've been waiting for about 6 months now for an appointment with the podiatrist. My ankles will have packed in if I have to wait any longer.

Same thing happened to the Mrs. Took them 3 samples to get the results. The results came back and they said they'd need to do another just incase that one was a fluke!

WTF?!

Not so good if you're in an accident though.

Sounds like your hospital's path department is a bit shit, to say the least.

Yeah, the problem with Bupa is that you still need to be referred by your GP, and in my experience the GPs are usually reluctant to do this.

Really?
The two times I've actually used BUPA the GP hasn't been reluctant at all. The first time, his whole attitude became more positive when I said I had BUPA cover.

You just tell 'em you want to be referred, and that you have private health cover. As long as you're not draining the NHS they don't give a toss.
