See the category there? Games.

Unfortunately there wasn't a "Games... SHITLOADS OF GAMES" one.

Holy shit, I'm... about ready to give up here. There's no way I can keep up. Bioshock and Halo have barely been scratched. Forza still needs about a million hours playing. What's that, Mr Internets? FIFA is quite good? Oh, I... erm... sorry? PGR4, you say? Well, I...
/dips into pockets
Wait a second, what's that I see on the alarmingly close horizon? Virtua Fighter fucking 5? Shit in hell.
/Dips into pocket again
Fuck me. Pro Evo, is it? Has it actually evolved at all, as the title suggests? Okay, maybe not that one then.
niaga tekcop otni spiD/
Oh for fu- What? Half Life? Jesus. Okay. Can I catch my fucking breath now?

I mean, seriously, even if I WANTED a PS3 - or there was anything coming out on the Wii - I simply wouldn't have the time to actually physically buy them, let alone play them.

What's that? Metroid?

Oh, FOR FUCKS FUCKING SAKE.

FUCK YOU IDIOTIC RELEASE SCHEDULES

You can, of course, just wait a few months and pick them up cheaper (with the exception of Nintendo, of course). That way giving yourself time to finish what you have and buy the newer ones later when you might have time to play them.

No point buying something and then stickign it on a shelf for a few months, why not just wait a few months to buy it and then play it straight away. Of course this does mean one is behind the whole time, like myself. I've just started playing TDU in the last few weeks ffs! Still, it was 12.99! Bargain.

I'm in a bit of a quandary. Phantom Hourglass and Metroid Prime 3 are out within a week of each other, and I don't know which one to buy + play first.

You hit the nail on the head with the release schedules Stevas. Getting fed up with politically motivated release dates, i.e. releasing games to coincide with significant dates for other consoles. There's a huge dearth of releases in the Summer, and I'd pretty much guarantee that some games get overlooked because they end up being released against heavy-hitters, so why don't they use an ounce of intelligence and spread the releases ?

Thanks to the postal strike, it won't be arriving before next week's UK release anyway. :)

Well - to refer to my own fears stated earlier in a previous (ahem) "article" - in the case of some of the above, waiting until they come down in price (or I have the time to play them, more realistically) means that, in essence, I'm not getting full value for the game anyway - as (taking PGR4 as an example) everyone else will be playing something shinier. Maybe it's me, but I feel a lot of these (primarily) online titles need to be purchased when released to get the most out of them (and if I'm not getting the most out of ANYTHING I purchase, I feel cheated).

Where the fuck were all these quality titles a few months ago eh? I know it's coming up to the usual time of year, but come on. It gets worse every bloody christmas. This is ridiculous. Especially with the 360 - there's nothing coming out next year! Seriously, how do these companies make money?

Pfft, I mean jump on a plane and go to the States to buy it.

Casuals...

;)

But, either way, I'd still import it because UK DS prices are a joke, and NoE deserve no-one's money.

Well I've got FIFA on the way from Binky so I will have that decision to make, though I feel long term I will only end up playing one or the other and not both. But I need both to make my mind up.

Oh, I almost completed DonPachi this weekend. Fuck me if that game isn't tough.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the cheap-looking black cases that US DS games come in. Silly, I know.

That's weird, I can't stand the size of the European ones. It's like they're trying to convince me that it's okay for them to overcharge for the games because you get such bulky boxes. Also, most of my collection is Japanese, so the US boxes fit in where the EU ones wouldn't. Still, each to their own.

Day three of my week off. Total time spent gaming: about 90 minutes.

Total time sat watching download bars going up: about 120 minutes.

Total time sat looking at games or DVD collection deciding what to put on before deciding to spend the time on forums: 3 days.

DOES NOT COMPUTE.

We've come full circle. Speaking of coming, you didn't factor in... you know... time to... you MUST be, you're off work... and all men do it when they're off work... which means... you'd have to be multitasking... while you're on a forum... and this... is... a...

you're doing it right now, aren't you?

Yep, I've been doing this this morning. I hate it, if I could just decide on something to do my unplayed games/unwatched movies pile would actually be calculable in size!

That mental inertia can be a real killer at times.
Just put something in. At random, if necessary. You may surprise yourself and get into it, or if your really not in the mood then change it.

I decided to eat a burger. I'm back on here now... I'm combining it with 'look for a job in Japan' though, so it doesn't seem like so much of a waste of time.
