Finished Freedom Fighters...

Great game, good squad combat (on the arcade side of the equation) the graphics old up to the passing of time (even if they look kind of on the cartoon side)

I loved Freedom Fighters, I spent ages on it at ECTS when no-one else seemed to want to play it and then really enjoyed it when it finally came out.

I'm now looking for a time machine to go back and give myself a slap before I traded it in for a lousy three quid. What a tit...

Really? How did you manage to scrape any enjoyment out of it? I thought it started to get tedious after about the 5th level.

Does unlocking all the mini games in Raving Rabbids count as completing it?

quedex, I guess it depends on what you were expecting. I was after a bit run and gun FPS fragging that didn't pretend to be more than that.

I got run and gun fragging with some nice added twists. Portals, boxes that you can crawl into and which make you come out behind yourself so you see yourself crawl in as you crawl out. Nifty "no quicksaving yet no redoing massive parts of the level" system.

Yes, it gets samey but it's a run and gun FPS after all, it's to be expected.
I think it's lovely.

Completed Raving Rabbids story mode the weekend before last with an absolutely non gamer friend of mine. She was well into it.

I was considering it but then I realised I'd better finish it first.

I've been home for 2 hours now and done nothign but sit here and post though.
I should go play a bit really.
I won't have time again until next week Thursday.

Not sure I was expecting much more than that myself. It just felt too much like the devs got bored designing the maps - once you got on board the ship and they had used up all their good ideas for the portals, they just started cutting and pasting the levels to pad out the game.

Wasn't convinced about the restart mechanism either. Nice idea on paper, but it took a lot of the "danger" out of the game - you could happily rush into a room all guns blazing and not care because dying didn't cost you anything.

I wouldn't describe it as a bad game, just a flawed one that didn't push my buttons.

Tomb Raider: Legend

Great game (not near the quality of the first one, but much better than all of them put together from third until angel of darkness)...

If you remove the m0t0rb1k3s sections it would have been almost ace...

Good controls, didn't have to much trouble with the camera (on the PC using a xbox360 gamapad).

Even so 8/10 in the end...

Finished Zelda TP last night, after stalling for ages and avoiding Hyrule castle cos I knew it'd be the end. It really doesn't come together very well does it? I mean I liked it but I think Wind Waker is the better game. Shame and now there's nothing I want to play on the Wii

I'm actually writing a review for it right now. It should be finished soon, so not long until you see it on here hopefully.

Anyway, Chronicles of Riddick yesterday, took about 8 hours, loved it, apart from the fact that it was a) bloody easy and b) that last bit sucked balls. 8/10

Today I finished Crash Nitro Kart (PS1) in about 3 hours, the story mode, didn't unlock every track though as that didn't really seem worth it. Good game though. Hadn't ever thought about trying it before but it nearly made the AATG Top 100 so I thought I'd give it a go and it was worth it. Much better than Double Dash in my opinion, although Super Mario Kart still rules the roost. 7/10

Since last posting I haven't played much as I've been working a lot but from memory:

Phoenix Wright (5/10 really didn't see what all the fuss was about).

24 (7/10) Bit buggy but very good fun as a fan of the show. Had to give it 2-3 levels before I worked out how to get the bloody awkward control system to work properly, but once you nail that it's good fun.

Just finished Ratchet + Clank Size Matters.
It's far too short, and they so obviously tried to hide this by making certain parts of the game annoyingly and frustratingly difficult. Not as good as Daxter. Would give it 7/10, but it deserves to be docked a mark just for the hoverboard levels, so 6/10.

I haven't finished a game since I finished Ryu ga Gotoku 2 over a month ago, and the last one before that was... nope, it's not coming to me. I went through a spate of titles in Dec/Jan, but have been on a terrible run since.

edit: although I would have finished Super Paper Mario by now, if my Wii hadn't broke down.

April 15th. ^_^

Took less than five weeks to break, awesome performance from Nintendo. I had Dreamcast controllers that lasted longer.

I know some people that worked on that game... =P

Most people liked the control scheme apparently, but in an earlier version we had a more 'mario-esque' control setup and it rocked. I realise that the final setup works but I was gutted when the direction was changed and the super-arcadey shooting was lost.. Still no game out there that have done that yet.. =/

Finished Call of Juarez on the 360 a couple of nights ago. I liked it a lot, but it's got quite a few flaws that a lot of reviewers haven't touched on. Stealth sections were actually ok, but some of the platforming was a bit finicky, and led to quite a few instant deaths. Why they chose to open the game with them is beyond me.

Also got to the end of Prince of Persia on XBLA. Despite the broken combat and the way the game occasionally reads and stacks single button presses as doubles (or triples) I thought it was a brilliant little game.

FEAR - Just about enough horror moments to make me forget I'm playing a FPS and keep me interested, although more creepy bits would have been nice. 7/10

Carcassonne - (well I got all 200 points for it, so that counts as complete). Good version of the board game, not quite as strategic as Catan, but there are less game breaking bugs than Catan so you can actually play a game without constantly cursing the developers. 8/10

Bullet Witch - Uneven, unbalanced, unfinished, broken, "controller-breakingly" infuriating, at times too short, other times not short enough, cut scene script so bad it even makes ID4 look good, cute lead character, surprisingly good fun. Just don't pay more than £20 for it. 6/10

Always thought FF was an ace game and one ripe for a next gen sequel.

Someone really needs to licence Red Dawn :)
