After hearing Bill Roper on 1up Yours talking about this, and particular the conversations concerning similarities to PSO I went and downloaded the supposedly disappointing demo. My PC couldn't really do it justice, but it's so much fun that I'm pretty much set on ordering this now.

The action RPG controls are great, and both the character classes are fun to play in different ways. There's some really nice original weapon ideas, like the grapple gun thing, and the grenade skill on the marksman.

EDIT: The "" around "disappointing demo" disapeared.

Ordered this this morning. Really looking forward to getting it.

No one else bothered about this?

Try the demo!

I did try the demo and it was good fun during the first game.

The controls however were confusing and not exactly friendly (two types of mouse control for instance). The graphics were quite nice albeit repetitive, which is probably the price you pay for this kind of dynamic content. I did not like the invisible boundaries on some level elements nor the horrible over-the-top voice acting.

Curious though, on the second go the demo felt rather lifeless and a bit...meh. I'll probably get the full game - without the subscription - but not just yet.

The voice acting is terrible. I was searching for a speech off button, but it seems to be lumped in with all the other sound effects, so it's all or nothing.

The graphics didn't look to great on my machine, but I had to turn it all down to get it to move.

It does feel a bit odd at first with it feeling half way between a MMO and a full on action gamer. It's not as visceral as a real 3rd person action game, but not as detached as a MMORPG, the demo seemed like an improvement on the formula I loved in PSO.

I'd like to have tried the Beta to see if there's any hope of me playing online with mates.

This is loads of fun. The Engineer class which wasn't in the demo, is a right blast to use. Blasting my way through dungeons with his support robots is ace.

Luckily it has even more graphics settings I can turn down, than were present in the demo. So it runs nice and smooth now. Even with most of the settings turned down it's pretty impressive in a team with everything blowing up as you storm through the undead.

They've also toned down the dodgy voice acting a touch, it's a bit less comedy now.

Several patches later and this is running fairly smoothly in a low resolution on my machine. Just ordered a new pc so hopefully not too long until I'm playing it at max settings.

The first bit of subscriber content has gone up in the form of the Stonehenge Chronicles which will be tempting me once I'm up and running on my new pc.

You getting a commission? ;-)

I haven't really paid much attention to it really though it's sounding better now that they've sorted some of the issues. I need a new RPG as well.... hmmmm

Haha, does look that way doesn't it, posting away to myself.

The story, and especially how it's told is pretty poor. So I wouldn't go into it looking for a great story.

It's pretty good fun though.

I tried this for a month or so, but found it to be mindless repetitive crap, so uninstalled it.

It did start to get a bit dull after a while, the lack of challenge was the biggest killer for me. I ended up taking off my best loot and fighting in a tatty old Jumper to make it a bit more exciting, which in a loot collecting game isn't such a great state of affairs.

I might need to plow on a bit and see if it gets harder.
