Aloa!

Can y'all give me some advice please. I've been offered a slimline(about a year old), 2 pads, leads and eyetoy for 40 , good deal? The guy will throw in all his games for an extra 20 quid but will get the list tomorrow, but there is about 10 or so...

Also been offered an old style PSP with a 32mb mem card and 8 games for 50...Again, good deal?

As I have never played either system I have no idea of a good list of games but 5 odd years of EG forum use has unconsciously made this PS2 list -

-ICO
-GT3 or 4?
-Okami
-BGAE
-God of War 1&2
-SotC
-Shadowhearts 1&2
-Disgaea 1&2

I love pretty much all genre but not really dipped into JRPG territory so if anyone can give some advice or suggestions? :o)

I have also never played a FF game apart from 3 on the DS and Tactics on the GBA. Any I should shun? Which in the series should I rob an old granny for?

Same question as above for MGS...

Cheers all!

If you like RPGs but have never owned a PS2 it is a Must Buy.

MUST.

BUY.

mustbuy.

It's so hard to say where to start... since you mention FF and MGS then yeah, you might as well start with some PS1 stuff in the form of FFVII and MGS1. I could make a better, more varied list later.

I'd appreciate it Il...I bow to your considerable knowledge ;o)

I should have probably mentioned that I'd like some game recommendations for the PSP too, and how to check if I can 'homebrew' on the firmware version on the PSP. Guy is bring it to work tomorrow so I can check to see what version it's up to...

Anything like 3.40 firmware and you'll be able to M33 your PSP quite nicely.

They're stolen. Only a fucking idiot would sell that lot that cheap. ANy shop would give you more than that.

I'd call the bloke in question an arsehole, and tell him where to shove it.

Heh! They are from 2 different sources. The guy selling the PS2 only got a 35 offer from Game/Station afaik...Hey if he thinks 40 quid is a good offer who am I to stand in his way :op ( and I have a feeling that the games he has aren't very good ones...)

The PSP is an offer from a good mate who just doesn't play his anymore. I just don't know how I can explain both to the missus :oD

Yeah, I remember a mate selling me his N64 and about 6 games for 20 back when it would have been at least that just for each of two or three of the games he was giving me. People go crazy sometimes.

Guitaroo man is good on both systems, though I'd go for the PS2 one which has better graphics and less loading.

Dark Chronicle is one of my favourite PS2 games, very good fun, if a bit of a slog later on.

Katamari Damacy.

Added to my list :o)

Il - I think my mate is just trying to be nice, can't argue, would never be able to get one from a shop just now...

It's just unusual to get 2 great deals in the one day.

Ok so now I'm a little disappointed. PSP boy couldn't find the charger and as he hasn't touched the thing for months there was no power in it for me to check the version number. :o/ Hopeful that I can for tomorrow though...
