We all saw it coming ... well everyone except the competition authority. Ever since the merger the price of new games in both GAME and GameStation have been rising closer to the RRP by the week.

Wandering around Watford I could buy the majority of chart games for less at HMV, Virgin (Zuzzi or whatever its called now), Woolworths and Argos.

One good example is Kane and Lynch which was the full RRP of £44.95 in GAME compared to £39 in Woolworths, right now it makes more sense to sell my games to CEX then go to the cheapest of the chains.

Pre-Merger a price war between GAME and GameStation was never in doubt as they fought each other for your business in both secondhand values and the shelf price of new games, now punters are going to both and knowing of no where else to trade their secondhand games they're getting ripped off on both.

Luckily Watford has a CEX but it really pisses me off to see the highstreets competition vanish, the sooner the net crushes GAMEStation the better!

Or it could be that a certain yearly event is almost upon us.

Someone in MK had bagged a Wii (christ knows where) and it was quite comical when someone randomly walked up to them and offered then a stack of cash for it. I knew i should've boxed mine up and taken it in with me!

I notice Game and Gamestation's trade-in prices have dropped right off the chart. I was offered £33 for a bundle of games that would've netted me £50 at CEX. Stranger still, it was Gamestation offering the lowest price!
