So, this is already out in America so I'm assuming some have already downloaded it and watched it. Think it's out in Boxing Day over here, not sure. I loved the look of this film, so I downloaded the audio version of the original book and I'm enjoying it immensely. The book perfectly captures the feeling of isolation and dread, something which I'm not sure the film would be able to pull off. I'm just about to listen to part 5 of 9 in the audio book, btw. |

It's out here too, wasn't that impressed. Too much below par CG and pretty obvious by the numbers second half, a bit of a let down after the decent trailers really. |

The film does actually do a good job on this score.Unfortunately there's a hell of a lot where it screws up massively and the fact that the infected aren't the vampires they should be basically buggers up the entire point the book made. Someone who hasn't read the book will probably enjoy it, fans will just wish someone would do the source material justice as it's a fucking great story. |

Does the movie make any sense if I don't know the book? (I really need to read the book, well, buy it first) |

Finished the audio book earlier. Absolutely amazing. |

Watched this this morning and enjoyed it but did think the first half was far superior to the second. There were just too many unanswered questions. Possible spoilers ahoy.... Who set the trap that caught Will? Why the fuck did he not just hide in the safe? |
|||
| |||
Spoilery answers I figured Will did it in his gradually going nuts state. Though I guess it could have been the woman. The safe was out of the light so the monsters would have little reason to go away while they hid in the safe, and most likely could open the safe. Will killed all the monsters that knew where they were. |

Further answers... It was the leader of the infected, he used exactly the same trap Neville had when he caught the female, the use of the dummy from the video store showed they'd been keeping an eye on him at other times. NOT A SPOILER: Read the book, it makes the movie versions look rather silly. |

Oh right, I guess that makes more sense than my reasons. I wasn't sure if there was a leader one or all the enemies used the same/similar CG model. |

Lets me ask a qeustion. Is it an easy film to understand and follow as your making it seem so ruddy confusing. |

Watched the alternate ending to this the other night (well, alternate version - it has additional scenes in the middle). Far, far better. And closer to the book too. |
