I enjoyed Assassin's Creed so much I ended up regretting not ordering the Collectors Edition with the figurine, in the Bioshock stylee.

So I ordered the figure alone from PlayAsia for just over Ł7! \o/

It's rather nice! A bit more action-figure than the Big Daddy but also better painted. Maybe take a piccie of my little gent when I get back home. Maybe Altair too ;)

I wish more game companies did this kind of thing...

Well we all know Nintendo's Pokémon has made a whole franchise of the figurines.
I even got a nice stylus with the main Pokémon on it for pre-ordering Diamond, how lovely.

Blimey, what with you being a retro nerd, I thought you'd ordered yourself one of these. Have you managed to assemble it yet ;)

:{D>

I've nearly done similar.

Years ago I found a page detailing how to construct a clone of one of the early (lesser-known) 8bit computers. Full soldering instructions, everything.

The only thing which stopped me was my shockingly bad soldering skillz.

:(

Maplins are the only high-street supplier of those things (well, they'll sell you the kit so you can make your own PCBs, or veroboard if you can't be arsed). And there's farnell, but they're not high street (but are usually lots cheaper for components).
