I've actually made a resolution to buy less games this year (yeah, I know, like that's possible). Now we have all three consoles in the house, I'm trying to budget for just the very best (imho) releases. Bloody things seem to bunch together, but this year I am most looking forward to:

360:

Mercenaries 2
Turok (yes, still)
GTA 4
Fallout 3
Civilisation Revolutions
Army of Two
Just Cause 2
Talisman (XBLA)
Condemned 2
Resi 5 (as if)
Fable 2 (saved by the edit!)
Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

PS3:

Haze
Killzone
MGS4
LBP
Socom 3 (maybe)
FFXIII

Wii:

Zack and Wiki
Monster Hunter 3 (grumble, mumble, last-gen, bitch, moan)

PSP:

Patapon

DS:

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village

You?

If Empire Total War comes good, I won't need anything else!

(apart from SSBB and possibly King's Story)

For now, I'm happy with just the following two:

March - Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! (PS3)
April - Senjou no Valkyria (PS3)

And I'm quite hopeful that they will be enough to make the year a special one on their own. I'll think of a bigger list in a bit.

Nothing on PC that I'm aware of, but on the PS3:

GTA4
The Agency (a big "if" as to whether that's out this year, but still...)
Fallout 3
Wipeout HD
Resistance 2
Motorstorm 2 (still penned for this year, no?)
Echochrome

And I still want a proper rally/offroad game. Hopefully Motorstorm 2 will be a touch more fleshed out than previously, but something like Grand Raid Offroad or a decent WRC game would make me very happy indeed

For those waiting for the EU release of Everyday Shooter,I can confirm Entropay works perfectly to let you buy and share US releases.

Some good lists here, and a lot of stuff I'd forgotten about but this year I'm waiting on:

360

Mercenaries 2 (assuming the PS3 version isn't tastier)
GTA4
R6Vegas2
Battlefield: Bad Company

PS3

GT5
Metal Gear Solid 4
Little Big Planet
Killzone 2

PC

Spore
Starcraft II
Far Cry 2
Battlefield 3

Portables:

Nothing really though an english translation of Layton would be superb as it's such a beautiful little game.

Hmmm, good question. I doubt I will get all of these, since this is supposed to be a lean year (ok apart from maybe buying an HDTV).

GTA 4
Fallout 3
Civilisation Revolutions
Talisman (XBLA)
Fable 2
Left 4 Dead

When are the new Lego titles supposed to come out. Looking forward to those, if only for the co-op fun.

Got to say I'm surprised at the attention MGS4 is getting. Does anyone ever actually enjoy those games? They look absolute arse and usually handle worse. Throw in a really bad Jap semi sci-fi plot and you have a a very poor recipe for a game IMO

Thinking about that at the moment. Definitely not a sure thing yet.

That play for free Battlefield looks like it might be interesting, and someone just recommended me a decent place to get a PC so I might be able to play it.

Not based on the demo; maybe if reviews are overwhelmingly positive I'll consider it...

I'm interested in Burnout Paradise, but the demo didn't convince me so I won't be getting it full price at least. I liked the feel of driving the car, it's just not clear enough.

No Rock Band love at all?

I'm a bit out of touch with the upcoming release schedule but looking forward to the Bully and Riddick remakes as never played the former and never finished the latter.. oh and Lost Odyssey is another one on my wish list..

Still have a few 07 games to start and cant decide whether Burnout will float my boat (was always more a fan of crash junctions than races and my lack of skillz would probably highlight the lack of retry option)

Two problems with Rock Band:

- the price
- the lack of room in the average UK house. The drums don't even fold away FFS!

The price is a worry (it hasnt been finalsed yet right?).. would be nice if they had the game only and seperate peripherals available at launch so people could (especially 360 GH3 owners like myself) buy it bit by bit..

Hadnt even considered the space issue yet.. but the track list and the dlc so far has made me still want it..

I'd like to get Rock Band but I don't know if I know enough people who'd play it with me. The wife said she'd play but I'm not sure how long that'd last, plus importing it will most likely cost a fair whack.

We barely have room to swing a wiimote, let alone set the drums up. As much as I love the idea of Rock Band that - and the suspected disproportionately high price in the UK - are putting me off a bit.

Oh, forgot about Buzz - The Quiz Channel. The Buzz discs for PS2 were great albeit the questions were insanely easy. This should eliminate that problem as you can run and share quizzes online :-D

+1
That's how I've got all my PSN purchases. They only charge 4% on all purchases, you can create / destroy virtual visa cards as much as you like, and they're not that fussy about validating names and addresses when making purchases (if that's the sort of thing you might find useful... *cough*)

It counts for me because it'll be the first proper "big boy" console version that's not got a fucknutted camera system :)
