Out in two days, and my wife just saw the game being given away on day time TV and said she wants to play it. So I reckon I'll be giving this a shot.

Still not sure what you get to do, but at least my wife will be up for helping. As long as the animals aren't eating each other apparently.

+1

Just watched the trailer and it looks fantastic. I really liked Endless Ocean on the Wii and this is a very similar style of game.

It's scored poorly in Famitsu but I'm guessing it's very much a game for fans of the (non-existant) genre

If I can get ate by lions, I'll buy it.

Elephant trampling might just about do.

Would love to hear your opinions of this Trip, am definitely very tempted but the number of games coming out this year doesn't fit well with my time or wallet.

This has been grown on me more and more since I wrote those first impressions, I'm really enjoying it now. If it doesn't get a western release it'll be a real shame.

The problems I had with the quality of the photos you can take has improved with new cameras and lenses, though they are still pretty small.

Here's a few pics I took in the game.

They look pretty high res Trip. I presume these are all with upgraded cameras though ? Do you have any of the ones you took with the original camera for comparison ?

If you click the all sizes button above the images it has the orignals, which are slightly larger.

I think the major problem I was having with images early on was due to them making your starting camera take crap photos. As soon as you get given a in game Sony camera it magically gets nicer looking. Getting given a decent zoom lens really helps too.

EDIT: Sorry misunderstood, I'll go dig some starting cam pics.

I guess it's just part of the sony camera sales pitch.

The national geographic stuff is nicer product placement, there's some nice images to be unlocked, along with some information about the animals you manage to shoot (with a camera).

Rumours of National Geographic getting behind this were apparently quashed earlier today - so it won't even hit the US any time soon.

Fuck it. Just ordered the Asian/English version, Hakuna Matata, from yesasia.

/probably didn't need any more games right now, buy - Jesus - there's waiting and there's waiting...

I didn't realise a Enlish language one had come out. It's a great game and really enjoyed it, though I didn't get to the end.

With Endless Ocean 2 still only having a release date of "2009", I'd like to hear how you get on with it for relax-o-game purposes too, RPJ!
