Anyone getting/importing this? I've just seen it's out in the US and Japan this week.

I've always wanted to try a Disgaea, but my PS3 only runs Japanese PS2 games. This might be a good place to start, I'll see what Play Asia want for the US version.

Were you never tempted by the PSP version, or do you just use your PSP as SatNav for your bike??

I bought the Japanese version (which came out in Jan), but haven't played it yet (not a shocker, as this applies to Disgaea 2 and Disgaea Portable as well as a host of other games).

My copy is winging it's way across from Canada this very minute. I've loved every version but never given them the time they deserved. I did clock up 20 hours on PSP Disgaea which is pretty good for me.

I'm not sure I even realised there was one, the PSP one sounds like an even better plan.

I haven't used the PSP with my bike for ages it's just too hot here at the moment.

Disgaea is perfect for portable play, it's really not the sort of title I can imagine playing for long on a home console.

I'm still hoping for a PSP port of the sequel.

I'm really enjoying this so far. After 7 hours of play I'm feeling a connection to my megadrive-era sprites and have some interest in the ridiculous story. I've seen a couple of people having an issue with the voice of the main character but I quite like it and it certainly grows on you.

There isn't much of a difference in the gameplay over any of the previous versions but it's a worthy addition to the series. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be abloe to get away with the fairly low-res sprites but I can easily live with them.

How did you find this one compared to Disgaea 2 Micro? I'm thinking I'm going to give one or the other a go, but can't decide between this one on PS3 or Disgaea 2 on PSP.

I prefered this to Disgaea 2. The story was more fun and insane and the mechanics had a few welcome additions along with a better main character.

It looks about the same as the others but with a few more effects on them. I would skip the psp version unless you're desperate for the portability.

I really hope they bring these to the iphone or, even better, the ipad.

Many thanks Micro - I was kinda hoping you'd say that! I'll skip Disgaea 2 and play Jeanne D'Arc for my portable strategy fix.

An iPhone version would indeed be very well suited, technically it should run without a hitch and the touch screen and portability would make it a perfect platform for Disgaea I think!
