No EG thread category.. :o)

Volunteers and press

Rauper is inviting press on the above link, so I'm sure nice Mr.HA or nice Mr.PJ or nice Mr.Morris (are there any other nice people here? No? I shall stop with the nice then) may wish to apply.

Odd thing this...is it purely a PR thing for Eurogamer? I never really got the impression that it was possible to make much money out of running conferences, mind you, people do keep putting the buggers on so some money must be getting made somewhere. :)

There's no big show in the UK any more so EG are stepping in. Even if it's not directly cost-effective it'll raise awareness for the site purely based on the fact that it's the *only* sodding show :-D

I'd love to go but I can't get to EG to get tickets :-(

Hmm, I was going to go but seeing as I'll be down in London on the weekend just before for the NFL game I don't know if I can be arsed to go down to Brighton just a day later.

You know, I put London at first and then thought "hang on, what if it's in Brighton?" (even though, on balance, that would be a stupid idea) Then I checked the EG thread which mislead me into thinking that it *was* in Brighton.

Either way, I don't think I can be arsed to make a trip south twice in three days.

I'm surprised this hasn't already been bumped. It was quite good last year apparently so I'm thinking of going on the Saturday this time (31st October in London), if any AATG/EGers are coming along...

I'm taking bets on what old gaming T shirt Tom's wearing. Don't let me down, I expect detailed reports!

(Last seen in - a free Zoo Media Alien Hominid shirt in a fetching shade of green)

That is rather awesome.

I've had all my gaming t shirts secretly purged, even my much treasured "Psybadek" T Shirt. ;_;

I've had all my transfer tees purged too, okay I can understand the Dwayne Dibbly Duke of Dork one had to go but the Pink Floyds Atom Heart Mother one? That was just cruel.

I was going to Leeds on the Tuesday but a long awaited hospital appointment cropped up on that day. Am now going on the Wednesday... unless I'm kept in.

Dang wish I was going, you're the only two "old skool" EGers I haven't met yet.

Probably ones that were there when I started and are still there (lurking or otherwise).

Christ it would've been ten years next year (lurked before I posted)

*bumpity*

Might be cheeky, but I've just requested a press pass for this years event. Probably too late, but if I get accepted I'll be sure to do some write ups for AATG.

See; I've always been tempted to go to one of these, but the fear of bumping into a bunch of EG regulars who turn out to be stereotypical gamers, thus destroying my hope/belief that most are well adjusted members of society (i.e. Normal) is a powerful reason not to.

Mixing gaming and 'real life' is not something I tend to do :)

I went last year but had to leave a bit earlier than expected.
There will people that will make you question your hobby, but equally there are folk that are lovely.

I'll be there for the whole weekend, should be fun, it normally is.

Early bird tickets all the way as I'm a Virgin Media customer, although I may try to blag some press access if I bump into Rupert.
