This is not necessarily a list of shame, but merely a list of albums that contrary to popular opinion, and your own better judgement, you actually like.

My own personal entry being the current Kaiser Chiefs album Off With Their Heads.

The first time I heard it I thought it was awful and contained some genuinely bad lyrics. But having listened to it a few times since, it's so fucking catchy and infectious that as much as I don't want to, I really like it

Goldfrapp's stuff.

Aye it all started off sublime and cool with Felt Mountain and Black Cherry but I even bought the last two. Despite them being awful. But I still stick down "Goldfrapp" on any musical taste survey style thing.

You're on your own with the Kaisers. Shouty lowbrow music :)

I enjoyed the first Kaisers album, thought the second one was shit and expected to hate the third as most reviews absolutely slated it.

But I think what makes it so catchy is that it was produced by Mark Ronson who has actually made some decent stuff.

Ronson's alright, aye.

If this ends up as an "embarrasing albums in your collection" thread though, I'd probably have to wheel out virtually everything I bought between 1981-1990 (apart from Nik Kershaw's 'The Riddle' which I will actually knife-fight people naked to defend the purchase of)

Nowt wrong with a bit of Goldfrapp mate, though I didn't think much to the last album.

Train is a belting track too!

There's quite a few, but most recently - 'Songs About Girls' (Will.I.Am). Scoff all you like, but most of it is incredibly catchy. :)

Yup pretty much all of Felt Mountain / Black Cherry are brilliant but the last two were a bit naff and Alison Goldfrapp really is wallpapering her own arse most of the time.

Ah, just thought of one thing that fits the bill of the thread though. The last Razorlight song. I fucking HATE HATE HATE Razorlight with a passion but the last song sounded so Crowded House-like that I actually thought it was them. Was absolutely gutted to find out it was them :)

While I agree that Felt Mountain was a masterpiece, I think that Seventh Heaven is a decent return to form.

I confess, mine would be the last Take That album Beautiful World, despite having dissed someone (was it NewYork?) for liking the new single. My partner is a huge 'Four Twats' fan so it gets played quite a lot; eventually I seem to have found myself humming along.

I really like Willie Nelson's songbird - for some reason that seems just wrong. I've plenty of shite ablums but most don't get listened to more than once or twice. I used to love some really terrible stuff that I can't bear to listen to anymore.

I'd love to punch that Razorlight dude in the ugly face. Freakin' mouth-breather.

Really been enjoying their latest album.

If I was going to mention a recent song it would have to be that Britney one which if I'm ever forced to listen to the radio actually makes me smile.

Worryingly quite enjoying the Cold Play album as well in a Saturday morning kind of way.

When I'm half asleep and driving to school at 7 a.m. I'm not really listening to the lyrics though.

It's also great at drowning out the inane chatter of the twat I have to give a lift to. If I was listening to anything a bit more delicate there'd be a well fertilised clump of trees somewhere by now.

Mind you I don't tend to 'do' lyrics at any time and never seem to know the words to any song.

Not sure about albums, but I do find myself liking the odd single here and there that I know I shouldn't. Like that last Take That one which accompanied the film Stardust...

How embarassing is it to say I think Plan B's album is pretty fucking good.

My list would be huge if "shouldn't like" is defined by what the average pub-going man shouldn't like.

But, technically I should like those albums, so... yeah.

Tom Jones - Praise and Blame. It was a gift (although I love Green, Green Grass of Home and some of the other hits). Never would have bought it; can't stop playing it. Covers of Dylan and Cash songs help immensely, of course.

Cat Stevens greatest hits. He's a legend. Best version of First Cut is the Deepest ever...

Mumford and Sons. Missed the boat, until this week. No idea what public opinion is about... and, you'll be surprised to hear, I can't say I'm fussed. Three or four cracking songs on it.

I adore Sigh No More; AOTY 2010 for me (despite being released in 2009). As for albums I shouldn't like but do: Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster...
