Had pretty much no interest in this, which I thought looked like another gears alike, until I saw the Giant Bomb video. The jet pack stuff looks cool, hopefully it translates into some freedom when dealing with missions.

Ooh, I'd nearly forgotten about this. Liked the look of it right from the first screenie I saw, tbh, but I'm looking forward to it more now.

I wish it was a bit more Crimson Skies/Rocketeer like in setting, but I guess they're trying to move away from that.

I've finally done it. I've found - and tried to play - the worst game of this generation.

Dark Void is the single most poorly designed piece of shit I've ever encountered. It's not the Crimson Skies "lite" disappointment. It's not Nolan "phone it in" North becoming overly familiar. It's not even the shitty shooting section, the seen it all before third person ducking and shooting mechanic. It's not even the fact that the graphics are so bad that the bubble-headed mongoloid you're playing actually would look more at home in a fucking Lego version of this game.

No, it's the fact that at certain times in the game, you are required to fire up your rocket-pack, going from on the ground, to hovering to launching yourself with gay (poorly controlled) abandon... in a confined space.

And in the moment the rockets kick in... you can neither see where you're going (because the camera spins when near a wall!), neither can you control yourself.

And in that split second... you fly into a wall.

And die.

Four times over, including restarting at a checkpoint before a lengthy Lego-man cutscene.

I nearly pulled my own fingernails out last night.

I've finally found a game worthy of hate. Capcom, what the fuck are you up to at the moment?

For a horrible moment I expected to come into this thread to find you singing its praises and telling everyone they were wrong for universally hating it! Thank gawd we at least agree on one game :)

"It's not Nolan "phone it in" North becoming overly familiar."
He probably didn't even have to learn new text for it. In the first few minutes of the demo he partially had the exact same lines as in Uncharted. :)

Damn, Dark void looked so promising too. I'd love a Rocketeer type game. I bet nolan North went in and the Director just said "Read it like you do in the other game. The kids like that." and Nolan died a little inside then thought of the money.

I'd love a decent Crimson Skies for this gen, let alone a jetpack job.

But it had such promise and high hopes :(
