No way. NY revealed something personal about himself.

He's normally so secretive and not all forthcoming with information. :P

Fucksake. I started out on my journey this morning (cursing drivers who had no headlights on) in a few gentle swirls of snow. Now I can't see across the park because there's a blizzard out there.

Just....fuck off snow. There's a good chap.

yep same here. Off and on all day we've had the full gamut from sleet to big floaty flakes, back through to the wet stuff again.

We got a shit tonne last night. At least 4 inches on our road.

Luckily for me, the tank breezed through it like you wouldn't believe.

I should flippin' well hope so, given what your car looks like :)

Mine did OK though the big wide wheels aren't exactly grippy. Switched traction control off, stuck it in low gear and it got through the mild dusting of snow covering the black ice OK. If only other drivers knew how to drive in adverse weather conditions though. I had bumper hogs all the way in this morning, stupid c*nts.

Bit of snow overnight but not much, certainly nothing I could use to avoid the 20 odd mile commute! Tons of the stuff falling out of the sky now I'm at work though, probably a bit too warm/wet to settle much but I'm more concerned about what happens when the sun goes down, it could be ice rink time on some of the less treated roads.

Yup. Our local council is saying "We're running out of rock salt" already. You can pretty much guarantee that they do this every fucking year in the first week of proper treacherous conditions.
After some near-heart-attack inducing moments last year I'm staying put at home if it gets bad. Too many times last year I ventured out in the car or on foot and nearly ended up with a busted assbone so I'm VPNing into work and they can like it or lump it if it gets bad.

We've been lucky so far. Settling on all the countryside around us, but not on the roads.

Same amount here (not surprising seeing as we're only about 15 miles apart). The bike ride was fun but I need to change out of my slicks

Switch on the TV today and Surrey Police are telling people not to head out unless journeys are absolutely necessary, while I don't live in the county I do work in it and I'm right on the border.

Expecting major chaos I headed out into the "terrible" conditions, mentally preparing myself Captain Oates like.

I'm currently sitting at work after having driven my usual route and not seen any snow on the road after I'd left my cul-de-sac, yeah that was very dicey indeed.

I decided to test the limits of my tank by driving it up a farm track, through a foot of snow and over a cattle grid. This was an area that hasn't been driven up by anyone for days now. Amazingly my Lanny absolutely destroyed it.

I'm well chuffed.

Of course the downside is everyone that gets stuck or needs to go somewhere is now all of a sudden relying on me...

Got home last night to find that no one in our street had bothered to clear any of the snow away. The bit I'd done yesterday morning was completely clear but the rest of the road was like an ice rink.

And to make matters worse, rather than clear their drives, most people had just parked their cars in the road so not only is it very slippery, but there are obstacles to avoid.

Lazy fuckers.

EDIT: Looking back to page 4, I complained about pretty much the same thing this time last year...

A pretty mild snowfall last night - 2" and the roads got well gritted so the ride to work was really nice. About an hour after I got to work all hell broke loose and we got 4 hours of solid, heavy snow. All in about 6-7" fell and pretty much the entire centre of Leeds cleared out at lunchtime.

Had a couple of clear hours now but the forecast for tonight is for yet more heavy snow so it's looking like it'll be snow days all round tomorrow. As it stands the roads are reasonably clear - not too bad to say there's the better part of a foot of snow laying on the pavements and central reservations

Looking out the window tells me all I need to know about what I'm doing today, I'm not sure I've got any work I can do remotely either. Time for a cuppa.

Not enough to stay at home today. Usual spack stuck to my back bumper all the way in maketh for a journey where I owe about 10 quid to the swearbox.

Seriously though if it's like this now, it's going to be WONDERFUL when it really snows...

I am down on the south coast but flippin 'eck. Had some know yesterday but Looked outside this morning and we must have had about 5 inches last night (Ooo Err!). Seems like the heavens have spoffed everywhere.

Did see a cat trying to walk along the fence though that amused me. Snow flying everywhere with a very worried looking moggie. :-)
