I figured it'd be handy if you have a place to explain what you dropped (or why) and where you can ask questions about a song. Or something.

Anyway.
WINTER. I typed it into iTunes and had 3 results.

05 Winter is by KOLK. Not sure what it sounds like if you don't understand it.
Try to see if you can spot "winter" she does sing it.

11 Winter is by K's Choice.

Wintertime love is on there so you can go. "oh yeah" and click to have a good old listen.

I typed winter and had no results after "win". Snow gave 0 results, so did cold and rain.

The On Her Majesty's Secret Service theme. Mainly 1) because it's the most kick-ass bond theme ever and 2) because the film had lots of snow, lots of wintery stuff and Diana Rigg looking hot in a mini skirt.

Two from me again this week; two and a half minutes of cheering 80s pop from the Bangles, and a droning exercise in SAD from Swedish electro legends Covenant.

Not a fan of the film itself (or Diana Rigg, tbh), but the theme is indeed great.

Though imo The Living Daylights has the most kick-ass theme tunes.

Uploaded a seemingly unrelated song called Alegria. It's the theme song of the Cirque de Soleil show and I think it's great. :)
Apparently the song is about hope or so wikipedia tells me and whenever Winter comes I have the hope that it will soon be over and I can go back lazily lying in the sun all day.

Seemingly unrelated? :-D

"Yeah, this song is called cowbell. Which may sound like it has nothing to do with the choosen theme of "technology" but you see. When I think of technology, I think of all the cool stuff we have like ipods and HDTVs and even older technology that is still useful.
Like microwaves. Now when I think "microwave oven" I can always hear the little "ding!" sound in my head it makes when your food is ready.
Really I do. You say microwave, I hear DING!
But it's a bit of a feeble sound no?
I can never help but think "they should've used a cowbell instead of that silly little "ding!".
So yeah. Technology. Cowbell.
You see the link, right?"

edit: Haven't checked out the song though. Need to catch up on all the new entries soon.

The Bangles one isn't too bad really.
Is the other Hazy shade of winter?

Quite enjoyed them both although I probably would get sick of the bangles after 3 more listens. The other one has legs though.

Who's is "winter comes"? What is it? Sounds a bit Depeche Mode a like.

Like the remix as well. Who's that then?

This week's lullaby theme was lovely.
Some really nice tunes.

I still need to find a way to properly keep track of all that's posted.
I usually don't have the time to listen to them all.
I often have a listen and decide after 30 secs whether to download or skip to the next one.

I plan to transfer all the downloaded ones to my ipod sometime so I can listen at leisure.

I definitely plan on DL'ing this week's, as the choice of topic was deliberate - those songs will be my bedtime soundtrack :)

Show and tell song dropped:

Smashing Pumpkins - Landslide

There's a few songs that at some point in my life held special meaning for me.

When I was young ... 16-18, I thought "Time" by Pink Floyd was very significant and powerful.

In my early 20s, "Change" by Blind Melon became another.

Once I bought the "Pisces Iscariot" CD by the pumpkins, Landslide was added to the "significant song" list.

The "getting older bits" hit a similar note as "Time" for me.

"Time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And Im getting older, too
I get older, too"

All in all, it's a great set of lyrics and they're delivered in a very smashing way.

10/10

=)
