Urgh, I didn't know it was in such a bad state... can't believe this was the game I bought a PS3 for :D |

The postmortem should be interesting, at least :D |
|||
| |||
I'd rather have an interesting game :( |

Damn shame. I had secretly hoped it'd make it out eventually I think whatever Ueda does is going to come with huge expectations so he might as well shitcan his dev career and go into something like flipping burgers, poor sod. |

On the other hand, it does mean that pretty much whichever company he works with, he could command a substantial salary and a decent budget, which is not a bad situation to be in. Personally I wish he'd make some smaller games next, to stretch that imagination with projects that don't take the best part of a decade to make, but judging from his recent Edge interview, he's pretty enamoured with the more cinematic end of the gaming spectrum, so I suspect that will never happen. |

NewYork said:Ueda: "It's difficult to explain [the decision to go freelance], but in a nutshell it was because I felt a sense of crisis within myself about a lot of things. It's hard to [say exactly what], but in terms of my own growth and career and so on." Asked what Sony's reaction was, Ueda explained "it was not easy. I can't go into the details just yet. It will be good to be able to discuss it along with a post-mortem of The Last Guardian someday". Yikes, sounds like an utter disaster Where was this from? |

C&P'ed from EG but the original article is from Edge |

Well, hello. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=278&v=0NOlkGGLbGI |

Please, 2016 can't come quick enough! It was so good seeing Fumito Ueda looking happy and well. I imagined he might look like a shattered wreck after the last eight years. |

What got me, and seemed to get past a few folk, was Ueda's new studio...showing off a very early teaser image that excited the fuck out of me more than anything I've seen at E3 so far (even the mythical The Last Guardian). From the site... http://gendesign.co.jp Click on "Works" Scroll through the lovely Last Guardian concept art and to the bottom of the page to....ooooh! so Gen Design working on something Ico esque with a girl and a mech? |

I think it's just their logo Edit: Oh wait now I see the line art... has anyone cleared the image up? Hard to make heads or tail of it |

I'm probably reading too much into it but it looked very teasingly similar to the earliest of early shots of Shadow of the Colossus where you had that sepia toned figure outlined against a building / castle. Definitely not the team logo - and given that they seem to have miraculously brought TLG within a hair's breadth of being finished next year it could well be the first pic of what's up next (or I could just be the world's biggest optimist reading WAY too much into a blurry footnote image on a website :) None of the press are talking about it so...YMMV |

That's a good spot actually. It's under the "And More" section so could be well be a future project. To be finally released in 2025, perhaps. :) |

Yeah maybe that's why no news sites are touching it. It's a whole 4 console generations away :) |
|||

Argh, people saying that the game doesn't look "groundbreaking" and could become boring. It's like they never played Ico. It doesn't need to be groundbreaking. |
|||
| |||
Ico was boring |
|||
| |||
Exactly. I don't know why people worry about TLG being exciting, then. |

This has been on my PS4 Pro for ages now and I've still not fired it up. |
