Really looking forward to this now, it should be a hoot in 4 player co-op.

You better not fuck it up, Ruffian!

First game was great but I dislike the prospect of so much multiplayer-focus on this.

What!?

Grab it! It's pence now, and still one of the very best games on the system!

And some handsome bastard reviewed it for this little old website...

I did buy the game (and not just for the Halo 3 beta), but I played it very little having been a bit burnt out on it by the demo. Have never played a demo since. I might dig it out before the sequel appears, I did mean to play it.

I hated the demo, but loved the game like I love Jessica Rabbit.

Really ? Is there a significantly different attitude running through it from the first then ?

I liked the multiplayer in the original, being able to roam around the city together or not, either work together to take down some of the tougher bosses (although not necessary to), or simply jump around at opposite ends of the map collecting orbs.

If the same ethos of freedom, with drop in/out for upto four people i think that could be awesome fun. I shall be downloading the demo for a play latyer of that i'm sure, and probably going to be picking it up. Unless the demo is complete cack.

It was a handy way of getting some advanced weaponry early too. :-)

I've enjoyed my plays of the demo in SP, 4 player co-op should be great.

What is definitely great is ripping a grenade turret off its mount and blowing the shit out of everything.

The Director can get a bit pissed off at you though. ;-)

First impressions:

More of the same but it's more Crackdown so that's a good thing, right?

The look and feel seems a little bit darker, seems to have lost a lot of the chunky side of the cel-shaded look and looks a lot crisper and cleaner for it. Tears like a bugger though in a couple of places.

The action's excellent - with the same emphasis on levelling up as before (in fact I think I dickarsed around in the demo a bit too much to see the full extent of my powers but it was great to shin up the side of buildings again once my agility levels went up).

Didn't get "strong" enough to pick up the large chunks of suspiciously conveniently placed concrete with bars embedded in 'em to start really wreaking havoc (in fact in the few instances I bothered with Melee stuff I ended up getting shot to pieces).

The Director is as ace as ever.

Other than that, the demo doesn't feature achievements per se. You still need the full version of the game to get your Gees.

All in all, looks like Ruffian have done a pretty good and faithful sequel but it remains to be seen whether the missions are compelling enough in the full version because that's precisely what was wrong with Crackdown 1 IMHO. Great fun game to piss around endlessly in but not much of a main mission structure to speak of, other than just knocking off the major baddies, rinsing and repeating.

It's amaaaaaaaaaaazing!

But more of the same only slightly refined.

4 player co-op is an absolute hoot, and it rarely chugs, even with a million billion baddies on screen.

I also had a game with Blerk in 2 player, there was something up with his mic, all I could hear was his laugh when I got caught in his UV shotgun spread, the bugger.

The orb sweats are back with a vengeance now, the ping helps, but doesn't show the hidden ones, as it should be.

Loved the original, but nothing in the demo particularly impressed me; once the crappy half hour time limit had run out, I had no real desire to play again.

I may be suffering from Sequelitis as I didn't buy Bioshock 2 despite the original being one of my all time favourites, and I'm not really that interested in Dead Space 2 or Portal 2 either...

Had a couple more goes on the demo and as Whizzo said elsewhere, I like the fact that the city is virtually the same, just showing all the signs of crumbling into chaos.

Spent most of last night's play session trying to level up enough to pull guns off their turrets (hint: Don't shoot anyone just kick the crap out of 'em and you'll be there in no time).

S'funny, I wasn't over-zealous about the original when it came out but it grew on me (even though I still think the original game's main single player stuff was a bit naff).

This has more structure to the missions and there's certainly more to do even in the demo.

Can't wait for the full versh.

Day one purchase for me, absolutely love it.

I'm not doing the trick for infinite time in the demo either, I don't want to ruin it for myself.

Me neither, looks a bit fiddly to get it working anyway.

But yep, preordered and definitely looking forward to it. I need to spend some time with the original again methinks.

One thing I definitely also need to do in the demo is to stop being distracted by trying to nail those durned achievements :) Far better to wait till the full version (that and I always manage to run out of time before I get anywhere!)

Fucking YES!!!

After all these years I finally scaled the agency tower in Crackdown 1. Finally grew a big enough pair of brass balls to fight the vertigo (oddly enough, the same method I use in high buildings worked perfectly in the game too. Don't look down and keep looking at the wall in front of you!)

So I nabbed those two delicious achievements for scaling the heights and then jumping into the sea afterwards!

I'm about ready for absolutely anything Crackdown 2 can throw at me now.
