That art is terrible though, someone deserves a smack for allowing that. Can't help thinking it could have been massive with a more likable style.

Buddha Finger was also featured as part of Microsoft's 'Next Big Thing' promotion on the US Windows Phone store, and today is one of the two main featured apps on the front page of the US store (US time though so it may be gone quite shortly).

Nice, hope you get a big bump in sales :)

Cheers dude, I hope so too although I suspect it won't make all that much difference, you really need sustained exposure over many months rather than just the odd day when you get featured. Still, it's nice to see the game in the limelight, if only briefly. :)

@evilashchris - Personally I think there's something pleasingly lo-fi about it but I appreciate it's not going to appeal to everyone.

Thanks for the link Sil, sorry I didn't notice it when you originally posted it but yes, it was/is very useful. Great news for mobile developers and particularly good timing for me as I've been learning the ropes with Unity over the last few months. Unity's absolutely ace for knocking together game prototypes - I already have a few rough game ideas each of which only took a matter of hours to put together, but now the mobile licenses are free too there's not really any reason to not go ahead and publish games using Unity too.

In other news, The Snowman and The Snowdog won 'Best Game' at the Broadcast Digital awards last night. Okay, they're not the most high-profile or well-recognised awards (at least within the gaming community), but it's a nice feather to the cap all the same. :)

Congrats. Great to see you getting some recognition :)

Cheers, funnily enough it won't actually make all that difference to me or my company since I was working under contract for Crash Lab at the time, and it's their name that you'll see attached to the game. But still, nice to work on something award-winning all the same. :)

I'm happy to say that my latest contract project has just been released for iOS. It's a simple iOS puzzler called 'Brilliant Blocks' (no, the name wasn't mine :)), and is available for free from the iTunes App Store here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/brilliant-blocks/id682407526?mt=8.

If you give the game a go please help me out by taking a moment to rate it and leave a review at the app store.

So, yes, another in that semi-regular series where I come and blatantly hawk my latest project around the AATG forums. :)

Today sees the release of The Snowman and The Snowdog 2014, developed by Crash Lab with me working as a freelance coder on the project. It's an update to the Snowman game we worked on in 2012 (it's unrelated to 2013's title though, which was done by somebody else).

The new game lets you journey around the world, visiting new locations including San Francisco, Japan, China and Australia.

For anyone who didn't play the original, it's a good one to play with kids as it's built to deal with lots of little fingers jabbing the screen at once. :)

The game is available on:

iOS
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/the-snowman-the-snowdog-2014/id940397955?mt=8

Android
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.channel4.crashlab.snowman2014&hl=en_GB

Windows Phone
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/store/app/the-snowman-the-snowdog-2014/2c8c18d8-b0c9-43f8-8e88-68697650d806

Kindle Fire
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Snowman-Snowdog-2014/dp/B00QKFOLH2

If you enjoy the game please take a minute to rate and review it on the relevant app store as the ratings really help us out in terms of getting the game a bit more noticed. :)

Yeah, sorry, I should've put that in my original post! Personally I would've liked to see it priced a bit cheaper but it's less than the price of a pint in most places so I don't think it's that unreasonable. Plus supporting UK dev, etc. :)
