No thread? This close to launch?

I have to be honest, both Move and Kinect have almost completely passed me by... up until now. I'm not sure that Kinect would be all that useful/workable given my current set-up, but I've recently started looking at a few threads, ads and games for the Move.

Alright, it's Nintendo's sloppy seconds, but I can't shake the feeling (especially from looking at a demo of Tumble) that Sony are actually coming good on what Nintendo (lied) suggested the Wii would be able to do.

I've got the camera that came with Eye of Judgement, and I'm impressed enough to take a dip on a couple of controllers here. If nothing else I'll get the use out of it when my daughter vists.

So... is anyone else remotely interested in this?

I don't know if in practice there will be much improvement over the Wii.

Nothing grabs me enough to say "you need new hardware for this game!"

Tumble looks like a depressingly sterile Boom Blox ripoff.

I've still seen nothing from it that impresses me about it. It still comes across as a Wii in HD and developers certainly haven't done that much that is very interesting recently. Kinect is no different.

I doubt I'll get either of them, at least until I see something that is incredibly impressive.

Move is interesting for me in jazzing up a other games as an optional extra, a friend gave me his Heavy Rain and I've not put that in yet as I want to see how the Move version turns out.

It's reassuring to hear developers like the RUSE devs saying that it's both easy and effective to implement. Though RUSE has some amazing joypad controls, and I'd probably get that on the PC.

I'm interested in Kinect mostly for playing with my daughter, but will probably wait on that. Quite excited by what they said it can do, but seems not all of that is yet implemented (if it will ever be), or not as well done as I'd hope. The Rez like game looks pretty swish, as does the dancing one. Going to wait and see how it is received online.

I'm more interested in Move than I am Kinect (aside from Dance Central which I still think is the only true killer app for either system). What does interest me is the thought of a HD Sly Racoon reboot - I'm just not sure I want to use the Move controllers on it :)

(Weirdly I'm not sure why we haven't had the Sly Racoon stuff before - the Avatar icons that shipped when the PS3 launched had a full set of Sly ones included)

My wife has preordered Kinect for me for christmas and I will be getting the move starter pack with Sports Champions next month. :-)

I quite like motion control games. Makes a refreshing change sometimes.

I'm a bit interest in Move, but not quite convinced yet that there will be enough good games to justify buying extra hardware.

When is it out anyway?

The other potentially interesting move-enabled title is LBP2/ If they get it right, having move controls in certain scenarios would be great.

Virtua Tennis 4 looked really good at GamesCom. I didn't play it myself but most people seemed to have no problems with the waggle controls.

I always react to this a bit like Syrok has. It still feels a little way away to me, probably because Kinect is still a fair way off. I'll definitely buy both of them as they seem like a platform in themselves (maybe I'm just getting annoyed at the lack of talk of exciting shiny new consoles). I think the fitness (and dancing, as peej says) stuff on Kinect will be great, and Move looks like it could add a lot to the "Wii style" of game just by being a much better example of the technology.

The augmented reality stuff looks cool for a party game but not much else. Other than that, the tactile grabbing/placing of objects in LBP2 might convince me to pick up a camera/controller pack at some point as for me that would make LBP about 3000% easier to develop for

Wait. what? You HATED the original LBP didn't you - specifically because of the design bits?

Crikey, didn't realise this is out on the 17th. It's got possibly one of the worst launch lineups for new games that I've seen in a long time and aside from the patching in of support for existing games, I'm having trouble justifying an impulse buy. Juicier stuff doesn't look like it's out till October and even then it's really just that punch 'em up.

I can't decide whether I want to buy this or not. Actually, I do want to buy it, but I fear that it will just gather dust.

I think like Kinect, I want it to be more than just a Wii-too and for a developer to really come up with something killer for it

No, the game itself was fine but the controller was very much an obstacle to being able to design stuff IMO. The ability to mouse around and rotate/resize in a tactile manner would make things a lot easier

There is some information on what bundles there are and what games are/will be compatible on the EU blog

Looks like I will wait for a better bundle. The demos on the starter disc will all be available for free from the store. I'm not going to pay Ä60 plus however much that sports game is going to cost and the demos on the starter disc won't really keep anyone entertained for longer than 10 minutes I would guess.

A Virtua Tennis or Everybodys Golf 6 (surely they will make that game) could tempt me.

Mmm, I guess I'll wait and see what individual stores are maybe offering, thought there would be an official bundle with Sports Champions, at least.

Has anyone got this on pre order and if so, what convinced you? I can't shake the feeling of it being a high res Wii control system and not much more. S there any specific software that sold it to you that vie obviously overlooked?

The only game that has tempted me to get a Move controller is Tiger Woods, as it is the only game I miss after I got rid of my Wii.

The Move version of Heavy Rain looks very a good fit for motion controls too and since I've never played the game I'd be tempted by that as well.

I won't be picking one up at launch though, as I reckon there will be some better bundle deals to be had nearer Christmas.

Sports games have always been of interest for me on these sorts of controls but I've never found any that quite work how I want them to - usually not as accurately as I want them to be or using some gesture based approximation.

Got it pre-ordered mainly for the sports game, although I'll be patching Heavy Rain asap. I've not played it since some utter bastard spoiled who the killer was... but want to try it with this new control scheme.

Daughter is staying at the weekend, so figure some two-player table tennis should be good. Wondering if I could get the girlfriend interested. Out of the blue she told me she liked the Wii (bought one for her mum), but thought the graphics should be better...

Oh man, if I didn't respect you so much, there's no way I would be able to resist "fixing" this quotation. Maybe just the fact that I've quoted it does the job anyway, though.

Email from shopto yesterday: they've despatched two move controllers, one navi grip, a charger for all, and the sports game.

What have Royal Mail delivered today?

Just the fucking game.
