Mubi is available now from the PSN store. In case you don't know what is here is the trailer

So basically a download service for independent, international movies and short films. You can rent movies for 7 days for £2.99/€3.59 or get a 30 day subscription for£9.99/€12.99, which allows you to watch as many movies as you like. There are also some free movies, but at the moment there are only 6 of them.

I've just tried it for a few minutes. The image quality is good enough in my opinion and movies start up pretty quickly (at least with my connection).

Apparently you don't have to use a credit card to pay for the movies, which I think is very good. Instead the money is just taken from your PSN wallet.

Mind, if you download it you will automatically join Mubi with the e-mail address you used for your PSN ID.

I was already a member of Mubi and the way it linked my accounts was seamless but also a pretty alarming privacy issue.

That said, the picture quality is pretty reasonable and the selection of films, whilst small, is intriguing

I'm not nearly free thinking enough to find any of the films available to be intriguing.

There's definitely one or two worth checking out. The best way to do it might be to pay the £9.99 monthly pass and blitz through the "must-watch" stuff in that same month
