It's my wifes birthday coming up and she has decided in her wisdom she wants a DAB radio CD player thingy. I'm not convinced the DAB aspect will work as I use a lot of homeplugs and I think she'd be better off with an internet radio instead.

Only prerequisites are is should have big friendly preset buttons I can tune for her. Any suggestions? Internet radios are easy to find but ones that also have built in CD players less so...

Why not go for a normal FM radio/CD player combination?

Is it? I've not used FM for ages ('cept in the car, I guess) and I'd not really want to go back.

But yeah, internet radio is probably best. Heck, just get something that hooks up to the iPod and then get the app with thousands of radio stations and stuff.

Thats the thing, I've got a nice iPod dock, and shes got an ipod with tune in radio on it but thats not good enough. She can't even use the easy to use ORB app to stream the music for our NAS box O_o

CD player and built in radio... sigh.

Only just seen this but we have a Pure DAB / iPod Dock clock radio alarm thingy. It's...OK but someone needs to have a word with Pure about their ipod dock sizes and the clip-in adapters they use. They just don't fit properly. Even if you use the official apple ones.

I was round at a friend's over the weekend and he's just brought this Sony from Amazon for a penny under £100.

It sounded pretty good and picked up a number of DAB stations really well. The iPod dock charged his 3rd Gen Touch too, which is always a bonus. I didn't pay much attention to the buttons though.
