Buy it! It's awesome!

...

At least if the first stage is anything to go by. :)

The controls are spot on and presentation is fantastic. Of course the music is excellent, too!

This is not an easy game. Had to drop the difficulty down to casual. Still struggling.

It's quite different to Shooter, despite partially using the same enemies. There are no more environmental puzzles, it's all out shooting and remembering where enemies spawn from and in what direction they shoot.

Sounds like fun, and as a fan of PixelJunk, I'll download this later!

It really reminded me of Scramble, and that was one of my all time arcade faves.

Will have to give it a go. Is there a trial?

I don't think there is.

It's very arcade-y. The closest game to it I can think of is R-Type, so if you enjoy that you might enjoy this.
I do have a feeling that it is quite short though. There might be a few more unlocks later and playing it on a different difficulty might change things around a bit.

So, apparently you can switch between weapons. I've just found that out, about half way through the game (if there really are only 3 stages (each with 4 levels). I thought you would have to collect them.
The things you can learn from reading the How to Play section... :)

It looks gorgeous, love the arcade monitor effect. Really wish this had a demo :(

If someone would badge Dylan Cuthbert over Twitter he might send us a review code. Can't hurt to ask. :)

I would write a review, but I can't even finish the game on casual. Need more practice! :)

Looks like IGN got a rap across the knuckles for rushing through it and putting up a half-baked review. Naughty!

Ooh! Demo coming soon too!

Really wish PSN would take a leaf from Microsoft's book there.

Amen to that, demos should be the norm not the exception.

That's good news though - let's just hope it's not multiplayer focused, like the PJS2 demo was.

Downloaded and played this last night. Bloody hell it's tough, even on 'Casual'!

Only managed to get to 1-3 before I get swamped with bullets, and with 2-hit kills and 3 lives it's quickly all over.

@Syrok - Cottoned on to the weapon swap, but I think the charge weapon (L1) might also be pretty essential to making progress.

Still, looks lovely and harks back to Old Skool shooters.
