STILL can't get any of that shit to work for me, despite having several EA 'presences'

Pisses me off because I've bought just about every Battlefield game except one, and regularly buy EA stuff so no idea what's wrong with that effed up Origin shite.

EG looks like it's hit the 100 player limit so here's an AATG one for Xbox 360 players.

Oh God, this is SO good in multiplayer. They're not even great maps so far but it's absolutely tremendous. I'm going to be in trouble when they release the Strike at Karkland pack!

It is good. It's so good in fact that I can't even grumble about being in with a bunch of faceless internet randoms (haven't actually managed to get into a game with any of you lot yet!). Every multiplayer game so far has been fun, never had any moments where I've felt the game or other players are unnecessarily stupid and punishing for a relative noob.

So many good moments and I can see me dropping points on the new maps when they arrive.

4am Friday night.
2am Saturday night.

Yes. It's good.

/rubs eyes.

Had to restrain myself from putting the xbox on last night so I would get half a decent kip.

LOVE it.

Really hope they don't split the Karkland pack out from the main MP mode. That would be very annoying.

It's a seperate tick box on the PC version server browser but I've heard musings that'll be in general rotation as well, not sure how that'll work for people who somehow didn't get the LE.

Been playing this lots over the weekend too, all on the PC though as good as the 360 version is it's really not a patch on the PC for obvious reasons.

I've made a conscious decision to never ever play the PC version, that way I won't be tempted to the dark side (which would include building a PC just for it. NO way).

I know Whizzo and a few others will probably shout me down for saying so, but you really aren't missing anything with the 360 version. Yes yes yes you can have visuals to die for, frame rates that will crack you an instant boner, and of course you can use the keyboard and mouse but other than that, the 360 version of Battlefield is nigh on identical.

It's the one and only time I've actually not felt compelled to give the PC version more time than the console version of a particular game.

I will say this though, the next generation of console hardware really will have to push the boat out to match even medium spec PC stuff. We don't need to keep restating this, it's fact - plain and simple.

Whilst I miss the scale and the camaraderie of PC BF2, I don't miss the faff of pc gaming in the slightest.

It's less of a faff but it does require a sodding huge investment every few years if you want to stay ahead of the game. I don't really have the time (or the money) for it any more and there are very few PC-exclusive games that justify the expense tbh.

No they're identical, I remember the time I was defending the Caspian Border antenna control point on 360, no wait I didn't because it doesn't exist on console.

The maps are much better spaced out on the PC large conquest maps, they're still not perfect but they certainly don't feel as clustered, which makes a huge difference.

Perhaps I should've said that the gameplay is pretty much identical. It's pretty obvious that a 6 year old console isn't going to have enough grunt to handle the larger maps or the sophisticated graphics.

Given what it DOES though, you can't really complain it's diluted or dumbed down in any way.

The console version may only be missing a few quickly outlined points "in theory", but they are all basically the reasons why I wanted to play the game in the first place.
