Stainless have gone the Kickstarter route to get funding for Carmageddon Reincarnation, as someone who absolutely loved the original (the sequels not so much) I had to throw money at it.

If you too want to see the return of electro-bastard rays and running over grannies, visit here

In related news, this is my tenth KS project, I've got more stuff "pre-ordered" through that than actual retailers.

Just posted a link to this on the front page after spotting it on VG247. I could have sworn I read somewhere that Kickstarter was limited to US-only companies.

I think if you're a company rather than an individual there's different legal aspects.

So the Kickstarter is past the target and everything is looking good and today Stainless have announced the iOS and Android versions of Carma! Doesn't look too bad at all and it includes the replay mode as well.

"Improved graphics"

Y'know what? I don't like 'em. I preferred the originals and surely that would've been piss easy to do on even a fairly low end iOS device.

I'll probably still have it though (if it'll play on my crappy ipod)

Know what? Despite my cynical previous post, the iOS version of Carmageddon is such a good clone of the original. If it wasn't for the ropey virtual on-screen controls (ie - if this was on XBLA as an XBLA game for 400 points) it really would be worth nabbing.

Nice to see that there are no zombies in it either. Just people. Being run over and going splat. So we have had at least some progress in game censorship since 1997 then :)

The nice thing about the controls is you can move the individual buttons around the screen. Helps big handed people like myself!

Yeah that is quite a nice feature though I would've preferred the approach of zones rather than buttons. Not enough iPad games do that.

Tis great though, I'd forgotten how much "fun" it was to pick up a pogo pill and watch your on-screen avatar getting bounced all over the place.
