Rather good innit, good enough for me to squander 1200 of my precious MossPoints on. This and Binary Domain are keeping the dust off my Xbox quite nicely at the moment. |

Loving it so far: forty-five mins in. Length issues are as relevant to me here as they were for every reviewer who gushed over Journey. Which I finished in about fifty minutes as I recall. Game has atmosphere in spades. Narrator still sounds like George Carlin though. |

I think I ended up playing it for a good 2 hours or more last night and don't think I'm near the end - but I'm not rushing it, I'm finding all sorts of little hidden bits and bobs here and there. As I said elsewhere, it's heavily reminiscent of Prince of Persia (even down to having some fairly arabic-sounding music in places) and Flashback. The weapon treatments are bloody genius (the catapult is awesome!), and yep it's chock full of atmosphere. Need to try it on my other telly though. |

I will be getting this just as soon as I have some free time available. |

According to the leaderboards, at two hours you were 38% in. Where the F is this two hour playtime bullshit coming from? |

Hmmm it sounds like precisely that. Bullshit. Unless you're some sort of first run speedrun freak, I can't see how you CAN get through some of the sections in 2 hours flat. Particularly the bit I've just done where you have to take things very steady to progress. I remember this sort of huff being talked about Limbo too, and that took me a lot longer than 2 hours to get through the first time (and even on subsequent runs it took me longer too). It's an awesome game, it probably won't be the longest game in the world but it's definitely longer than 2 hours. |

I told you it was good! :D Now people are dissing the later levels, bemoaning the fact they are a bit trial and error. Not sure these people played Another World at all.. |
|||
| |||
Anyone noticed that most of the dead people you find ID on seem to be famous serial killers? :) Still loving it and the more I think about it, the more I can also see the Another World comparison. Dying is all part of the experience and not relying solely on gunplay is also a stroke of genius IMHO |

Apparently, the developers have discovered a bug on the in-game timer. It runs at half speed. They couldn't figure out how players were destroying their level times. So, double the play time for all the reviewers that complained about it, yeah? And does this mean that scores will be going up on every review that marked it down for being "only two hours"? You know, the way they hammered Journey for being even shorter than that? Twats. |

Hahahahah really? That's funny! I'm probably about 6 1/2 hours in now, and I've just played (SPOILER AHEAD)... ....the stadium and the hospital - two levels that wake you up from the puzzle-solving and make you react and act quick on your feet as well as out-thinking hordes of zombies when you're low on ammo and haven't got a hope in hell of fighting them all off with an axe. Absolutely lovely bit where you realise you're going to get shitmobbed by them and won't be able to kill them all. So what do you do? Same as you'd do in a real undead apocalypse, use the door between you and them to let one in at a time, kill the fuck out of him / her, then rinse repeat. There's some truly lovely design in this, it's taken me away from Binary Domain (and that's equally good / underrated) |

LOL the best thing about that is all the people who were adamant about it, insisting that they were talking REAL TIME and not what it said on the timer. Fucking idiots who just can't through the day without moaning. As for the people who just didn't realize they had been sat down for four hours and not two... |

I'm just up to the same point as you, peej. I think this is my standout XBLA game of the year so far. (Along with Walking Dead and Awesomenauts.) |

Well and truly stuck now, timing is an issue as is gunplay on the bit I'm stuck on. Sometimes the load after a checkpoint is a bit of a bitch, pity it's not instant try again but I guess that's where it reminds me even more of Another World. You screw up, your punishment is to have to endure the restart, reload and the bit of dialogue before you get back to where you were. |
|||

Well I was stuck, sometimes I've got to remember that perseverance reaps rewards. And what a lovely little game that was. Just the right length (IMHO) as I felt there were sections towards the end that were a bit wonkily checkpointed (and ffs developers, checkpoints AFTER a cut scene and piece of repeating dialogue, not before - how many times do we see this?) Happy with Chris's 4/5 but I'd love to see more in the same vein. It's made me want to go and finish off Chair's XBLA magnum opus next. |

Aye, finished it yesterday. Felt like the perfect length. Some great moments in it and very few frustrations - took me a couple of moments to figure out one or two puzzles. Very keen for a second run through. Can't understand the negativity in some of the reviews. |

Moaners gotta moan. Hell, I liked it and I'm ubercynic of the year with gaming at the mo. So many great moments and nice bits of design in there. |

Really liked the demo. Will splash the cash when it comes down in price as I'm a tightwad with XBLA games. |
