So what do people think about Nvidias Tegra4 Android based gaming system? Bet it's got Ouya's knickers in a twist :) |

The Ouya is priced under 100 quid, Shield (is that the best name they could come up with) needs to be cheaper and pokier. TBH with how fragmented the android gaming platform is already, just adding more splinters isn't really going to change much. Even if this thing is a powerhouse it's going to be completely drowned if a new Xbox launches this year. |

I dunno. I think people are getting more into the habit for paying a couple of quid for a game than the £52.99 that HMV still wants for FIFA 13. I think I've spent more on Android apps in the last year than actual console games :/ |

Depends on the game. I can see that reasoning but I'd still rather pay 30-40 quid for a 'proper' game if it lasted longer or had a bit of depth to it. 'Course, with the way most games are stripmined for DLC that all becomes a bit of a moot point if the most you'll get out of 'em is 6 hrs max before you've hit a brick wall. If under-the-telly Android based consoles do take off, and start to build on the growing Android tablet market - then perhaps there's room for more expensive apps / games that offer proper game-sized content. |

This isn't just an under-the-telly console though, it's a proper handheld with its own screen (even if it does look like it's been photoshopped on). Apparently it can stream Steam games from a PC too, which is the big draw. |

It uses tcp/ip, so it will be just as bad as psp/vita at streaming. And of course, it will only ever sell to a subset of PC gamers, and the PC is not generally in the console position of competing for TV time. It will not have a prayer of getting close to the Ouya on price. I think it will be about as popular as Nvidia 3D Vision. Maybe less. |

You're kidding! TCP for streaming?! Maybe it's all so fast it makes no odds, but it still sounds a bit daft to me. |

It looks every inch a solution looking for a problem. |

Stupid Handhend Internet Enabled Lag Device? |

With this and the "Steambox" it looks like January 2013 is a good month for releasing absolutely bollocks hardware details. |

Sony seem to be concentrating on 4K at the moment, good luck with that. |

personally I'm looking forward to the Sony Vaio Steambox. It seems like a classic Sony thing to do. |

I'm waiting for 8k. Buying 4k looks to me like buying a 720p HD set. The successor is already announced. |

You're gonna be soooooo pissed off when 16k comes out. |

ach, maybe, although to me it seems like 8k is effectively 'retina' for TVs - any more pixels just means a bigger set, I can't imagine how I could physically fit more than 80" in a house, my current 50" is borderline ridiculous already. |

There's no way I'd be able to get even a 50" into the house ! I reckon I might be able to push it to 40" due to lack of bezel around screen these days making one about the same overall as our 32". |
