There's still more to come from this generation...

As the current generation draws to a close, I'm realising how many great games I still really want to play before moving on to Sony or MS' next piece of hardware... While this'll probably mean that I don't get a new console in the first 12 months, I think I'd kick myself if I missed these gems:

Bioshock Infinite
Dark Souls
Skyrim
The Walking Dead
The Last of Us

I'm also thinking I should really play these too:
Dishonoured
MGS4
Half Life 2
GTA4/5
GT6

Anyone else in the same boat?

I pretty much learned my lesson from buying a stupidly expensive launch PS2 (which still works - get a load of that).

And I probably would have brought the PS3 far later than I did if Sony didn't force my hand by phasing out the backwards-compatible model.

Buying at launch is a sucker's game - those are the people who bought Lair for the PS3 and had to act like they enjoyed it.

For this generation I still really need to play:

Tomb Raider 2013
Journey
Guacamelee
God of War Trilogy
Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham City
LittleBigPlanet 2
Metal Gear Rising
The Walking Dead
Rock Band 3
Dark Souls
Ni No Kuni
Devil May Cry
Sound Shapes
Stranger's Wrath
SSX
I might tempt myself to Jak & Daxter Trilogy (for the memories)

Then there's upcoming stuff like:
Dark Souls 2
Last of Us
GTA V
Remember Me
Deadpool
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Kingdom Hearts 1.5
Batman Arkham Origins
Beyond: Two Souls
Watch Dogs
The Last Guardian (assuming it exists)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (assuming it exists)

Which is more games than I could ever hope to play, but certainly enough to stave off any silly next-gen fancies

@NewYork - you've just listed another load of games I'd missed off. I forget Dragon's Dogma too :)

If I can fight the urge to buy shiny new hardware, I can see this gen keeping me going for a good few years :)

There's definitely one game there you owe it to yourself to play as soon as you can. Can you work out which?

I feel like my PS3 is the most underused console I've ever had. Really looking forward to firing it up for The Last of Us, though. Plenty of life in this cycle yet.
