Very excited about this piece of plot news:

Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.

So basically The Joker will turn Dent into Two-Face. Excellent.

This however sounds awesome. No it's not a spoiler:

The Dark Knight's interpretation of the Joker will be based primarily on the character's first two appearances in the Batman comics, as well as Alan Moore's one-shot comic book Batman: The Killing Joke.[25] The Killing Joke was the material given to Heath Ledger in order to prepare for his role,[35] and Jerry Robinson, one of the co-creators of the basic concept for the Joker in the comics, is involved with the film to consult on how to portray the film's Joker.[36] Heath Ledger described his role as the Joker as "more nuanced and dark and more along the lines of a Clockwork Orange kind of feel. Which is... what the comic book was after: less about his laugh and more about his eyes".[37] The comic Batman #1, referenced in part by Nolan, details the Joker as having "burning, hate-filled eyes", tying into Ledger's description.

XD

One thing I have noticed in the last year or so though is that trailers in the cinema seem to be for some films that are longer away than they used to be. On an only slightly related note.

I really excited about the way they are planning on portraying the Joker. I really didn't like Jack "way to fat" Nicholson in the Tim Burton film. He did capture a bit of the menace but was still far to campy for my liking.

Hope Heath Ledger can pull it off.

Sounds promising. As long as I get to see Batman hurting people in various direct violent ways, I'm good.

It'll be shit and the more i watch batman begins the more i see it for the turd of a film it actually is. The over reliance on gadgets and love interests puts it more in the realm of the adam west tv show than anything. I don't want that shit, i want a ninja sherlock holmes.

Fuck it i'll make ma own fuckin film!

What I'd like to see is a return to the 60's idea of letting Alfred step in for Bruce now and again, because he was always so convincing in the 60s show.

Idiots the lot of ya.

The more I watch BB, the more I see the subtleties in leadin gup to Batman 2. It's the best portrayal of Batman I've seen on screen.

I can't shun spanky and peej enough.

Cheers for the avatar though spanky.

Not hard though is it - I mean Keaton was too crap and weedy, Kilmer was a ponce, Clooney was actually OK but oh my what a film to debut in.

Then Adam West - fucking laughable.

Christian Bale does a great job, but the film just came across as too mundane for me. It felt like every other action film. Not really enough "bat" stuff going on.

I thought Cillian Murphy and Gary Oldman were ace in it though, as was Morgan Freeman. Basically the weak shit link in any Batman film is always the pseudo-romantic pissbah they always have to include in them.

Sequel should be pantwettingly good though I reckon.

Well, it was a re-writing of the history that imo, was incredibly well done.

The choice of the Scarecrow was an excellent one for example, and the whole inspiration and teachings were implemented perfectly.

My only gripe was the fight scenes. But having Harvey Dent in the next one really gets me excited.

My sister sent me a text asking me about the trailer that looks a bit like God of War. I don't have a clue what film she's on about, and I am also lazy enough to not bother even opening another tab and googling for it.
Anyone?

Er... are you sure? Clooney was laughable, not convincing at all as a superhero.

I thought Kilmer was pretty good, just a shame that the film he was in was rubbish. So in all fairness, Bale is the best Batman ever by a country mile.
