Thinking about all the tat that has been released lately after the promise shown by Geometry Wars, Wik and Outpost Kaloki... What would you like to see on XBLA?

Some ideas:

1) Risk. It would be amazing. Maybe even the 2210 AD version.
2) Cribbage - 2, 3 and 4 player. Personal favourite.
3) Magic the Gathering card game - GOLDMINE. I wouldn't play it, but loads of people would. Think of the add-on packs selling like hot cakes...

Anyone else got any ideas?

Cribbage would be good, but better on a DS compilation, not XBLA.

Speedball 2 would be awesome.
But any game released on XBLA should also incude the original game, ala GeoWars.

BTW: What is Outpost Kaloki like?

A reformed mega-lo-mania, with up to 16 players playing over XBLA, minimum 64 square maps.

Peej, the Kleenex is over there mate.

It's a shit load better than Frogger and Root Beer Rubbish, that's for certain. Cute spacestation manager game. Good for a laugh.

Considering they've started going down the (decent) boardgame route with Catan nearly out and Alhambra being developed, there are a few more that would make excellent XBLA games.

Roborally: Up to 8 players, each controlling a robot racing around a board, trying to collect flags. The clever (fun) bit is that instead of taking it in turns to program your robots, you all do it at the same time and then get to see the chaos as you start bumping into each other, knocking your opponents off the board, etc. Great laugh in real life, should be equally good on live.

Ticket To Ride: A bit more strategic, and less chaotic. Up to 5 players, each gets given secret route cards that they have to complete. Take it in turns either collecting cards or spending cards to buy pieces of track. Winner is usually the person who completes most routes. Simple game to pick up, but remarkably enjoyable to play.

Puerto Rico: Almost completely strategic, kinda like a heavily involved chess as you have to plan ahead and base your moves more around what you predict your opponents will do instead of what will gain you the biggest short term advantage.

I tried the paperboy game a little while ago. I had fond memories of playing it on the Speccy.

Paperboy is now dead to me. :(

Starting thinking that The Incredible Machine would be quite nice.

Did a quick google just to see if anyone else had the same idea.

Found this (page 29)!

Woot.

Some of the SNK greats. Plus some new games from SNK. Some SNK wallpapers, and possibly some SNK gamer pics. An SNK faceplate, too.

I cant honestly think of anything that XBLA could offer me that I'll be remotely interested in paying for beyond Worms and Sensi :(

I'm completely disinterested in it as a concept now. Even knowing theres a space shooter in the BSG game on its way fills me with meh because I know it'll be overpriced, and with the core game and assests being less than 256mb, will either be very short (without more expensive download packs) or look shit. Make retro games 100pts and we can maybe talk. If you do Phoenix.

Oh, maybe Iron Man Stewarts Super Off Road Racer if you're pushing me for an answer.

Actually, did Sim City ever get multiplayer-ised? I only bothered with the Amiga original. It'd be pretty amazing to have a persistent universe where your cities impacted on others as you grew.

God knows how it would be implemented and how you'd take over territory without it becoming an RTS and adding soldiers, maybe calculated with commuting and investment in your local rivals city through commercial zones. So like you see in real life, eventually towns merge and lose their boundaries to become even bigger. Would be fun pissing off your neighbour by building a coal power station right next to their exclusive riverside residential areas.

And Mercs. (the MD version as well as the Arcade Version)

Furbs: Not the same, but Sim City is DS bound mate.

Scrolly Schmups; Thunderforce and Hellfire would be nice, but Slapfight would be "teh b3st!"

Well Paperboy's a pile of shite then! I love how Digital Eclipse's logo looks like a huge gaping arsehole because that's exactly where I wish they'd stuff their games.

I like to see the old point and click adventures: MI, Grim Fandango etc.

Can't be too hard to tack on a control system that would suit the joypad. Do up the graphics a little bit, release 'em, and I'll wet my pants, quite frankly.
