Didn't get up to too much gaming this weekend as I spent most of it working on this fucking thing but I did manage to download Heavy Weapon for XBLA which is actually quite fun but unfortunately seems to be getting boring and repetitive quite quickly. Also received Tony Hawk's Project 8 from Nimblethumbs this weekend and I'm really enjoying that too. Nail the trick is fantastic, but the occasional slow down is very frutrating! |

THP8 was definitely my game of the year last year. Fucking superb game. The slowdown was annoying - I still maintain that they should quit with this "sandbox" style approach and go back to classic TH games of old, and just have each level as a separate entity then unlocked when you complete the levels before. You could have some truly vast levels but not have to piss about trying to render the entire gameworld then. Me this week - Zelda (big titted bitch in wagon escort bit, frustrating ain't the word) Wario Ware Smooth Moves (soon to go into the "swappage" pile I'm afraid) Sim City 4 (don't ask...just don't ask) Far Cry (on the PC, thank you) Peej |

/can't wait for Sim City and Theme Park on the DS |

Sim City aye - Theme Park, not that bothered. Now Theme Hospital - that would mean I'd have to buy another DS just to keep the missus off it. Peej |

I'm playing FFX, 42ATC, Digital Devil Saga, Pro Evo 6 and Mario Kart. This is my first time playing an imported copy of a FF game and it really is startling how poor the PAL conversions have been in the past. |
|||

I'm still playing Zelda TP and Princess Peach on the DS when Spanky is playing Zelda TP. Aside from that, it's not even worth considering playing another game until I'm done with TP. |
|||
| |||
I thought I was getting quite far with TP - only to have my hopes well and truly dashed when I realised I've STILL got the last dungeon to go. Bah. Peej |

Boktai and FFIV on the GBA at the moment. Boktai's entertaining but the requirement to find sun for killing bosses could get annoying :-/ Doing lots of Geocaching with the missus and sprog too :-D |

R6:V, still havent even fired up GoW but I'm actually in movie sort of watching frame of mind at the moment. |

Working on a fairly steady rotation of R6:Vegas (multiplayer); Lost Planet (waiting for multiplayer to be fixed); Viva Pinata; Fifa 07 (which I am terrible at); THP8. Oh, and CoD3 - which is ace. ...and FFIII on the DS. Shamefully, I have GTA VC Stories and Tales of Eternia on PSP and AOE and PW2 on the DS which I haven't even opened yet. Probably don't need to buy Crackdown and Okami for a few weeks... |

Peej Peej, You were only on the 2nd dungeon a few days ago, wgtf? I've been playing it a lot, mostly spurred on by the missus who seems to enjoy watching me play it. I'll tell ya something though, I fucking HATE picking up the tears of light (rubbish rubbish maps partly to blame there, oh for a 3D map in Zelda), and I fucking HATE all the wolfy bits in general. So far though absolutely loving the horseback combat though I'm not sure how I'm supposed to stop those bastards that keep setting the wagon on fire. Peej |

Wii Sports, Zelda and I've got my Viva garden on the 'back-burner'. |

R6 has been taking up most of time lately, though I have to admit it is getting a bit repetitive. We always end up playing the same few maps, as there are too many that are ruined by poor placement of spawn/capture points. I just got Nascar on the PSP and have found it to be a very intense, and rewarding, driving game. I got both GTA games on PSP before Christmas and I am slowly working my way through those. Still playing FIFA on both 360 and PSP too :-) |

Peej You're well ahead of me now, I have 3 tears to collect at Lake Hyria, I'm a bit sick of the tear collecting.I like the wolfy bits when you're jumping to follow Midna but the combat is limited compared to real Link.. |
|||
| |||
o/ Lake Hylia and that tear-collecting session was so frustrating and took me ages just to work out where the bliddy things were on that stupid map. Peej |
|||
| |||
Yep, I'm on the Lake Hylia tear thing as well and it's a nuisance. The other tears of light assignments weren't too bad, but these ones are spread all over the place. |

You are not kidding. And as I said before, the map is feck all help either. GRRR! I spent ages looking for the one at the top of the falls before realising the bloody thing was flying up in the air miles out of my grasp! ARGH! Peej |
|||
| |||
Really? Oh shit, I'll have to remember that one then. I think I've got one more left to get and the last ones are always the bastards. |
|||
| |||
I'll say nowt else about 'em as I hate spoilers but the map has frustrated me more in this game than any other game I recall playing (oh, apart from the last Zelda). Peej |

Zelda TP (on the Cube of course), bit of Rhythm Tengoku here and there. My son is sailing around Wind Waker sometimes too. |

I'm supposed to be playing Lost Planet, but every time I get on my 360 it seems I end up playing Gears multiplayer. |
|||

I've been rather busy work-wise at the moment, but I've been finding time for the occasional game of NBA 2k7 on the big black box. It's really rather good, although I'd presume a passing interest and understanding of basketball would help. I've also got FM07 sitting under this here browser, but I'm so tired I can't bring myself to start my long season of getting Notts County into the 1st. I've got a day off tomorrow, however, and no pressing deadlines, so it'll be a day of FM07 and MII:TW, which I've also only managed to play for a a few hours in the month I've had it. Three bloody good games, that's what I'm playing. |

Lost Planet and Viva Pinata. Though banging my head against the game I'm making is taking up just as much time. |

Ah, sweet, Teeth's here already. |

Teeth said : Lost Planet and Viva Pinata. Though banging my head against the game I'm making is taking up just as much time. Hows's that coming along? Apart from the banging of head, I mean. Are you still doing the idea you told me about in the Cittie of Yorke? |

Something simpler first, Truk. Platformer. Collision is doing it to me though :) Just got the thing working with dynamic objects which is nice. It's currently a map editor (undo & redo working :) ) (bitmap) animation editor; layered tile map and dynamic rectangular objects. |
|||
| |||
Cool. Did I see you mention over at the other place that you were doing it using XNA? If so, how's that treating you? |
|||
| |||
Sweet as a nut, though I do get the feeling I'd be just as happy with C++, STL and Managed DirectX. This is just... nicer. |
|||
| |||
Do you find it has a faster development cycle? I'm considering C# and managed DX for a major project I've got to do. Well, I've pretty much decided I'm using them, I was just wondering how much faster you're finding you can progress. I like my C++, but for stuff that don't need its benefits, I'd rather use something that lets me bang out iterations a bit quicker. Um. And sorry about the derailment. Perhaps this deserves a separate thread :-) |
